the reason your arrangement works is because you are playing it with feeling.I love the chords you use. It makes this song sound contemporary and fresh. You posted a tuning but what key are you playing in. I play hammered dulcimer and the music I find to play in A dorian. The suspended chords are great! thanks so much
O_O I don't even know how I came across this since I was looking for a completely different song lol xD but... omg O_O now I wanna play it on the guitar; you did such a good job, it's really pretty *0*
To be honest I was expecting to see a few more comments about it not being played perfectly and was preparing to blast them out of the water. I enjoyed this so much. When you aspire to play music as great as this I don't think it's important that it isn't 100% smoothly played.
Thank you for the kind comments. This tune moved me the first time I heard it and El McMeen plays his arrangement beautifully. It is the one tune that I have never played in front of an audience and it is my ambition to do so one day. Your comment has inspired me to retune to CGDGAD and practice this tune some more. If I can get even close to what El can do, I'll be very happy.
I wish my guitar was that special ._. but it's a piece of crap that I bought off of a friend who got it from a pawn shop... lol so you're lucky to have that guitar =P
Thanks for the comment. I only just discovered your clips on YouTube and am impressed with your chops. I shall look forward to hearing your take on JR's version of the tune. I admit that I haven't heard it.
Yeah, it's a beautiful tune. I heard it first on El McMeen's Playing Favorites CD and wrote to him to ask if he had the tab. Thankfully he did. It's a wee while since I played it now and I've never played it out. I have an opportunity to do that in a month's time and really ought to get to work.
beautiful sound

Thank you. I'm not actually sure what the key is to be honest.

What kind of guitar are you playing.
Nice work on the song. Lovely.

The guitar was built by German luther Heiner Dreizehnter. I will never part with that guitar! I now have a mandolin that matches it!

I was also wondering O: do you have the tab for this, or did you play it by ear? Because I really wanna learn how to play this now lol

It is a beautiful song but you look a little tense while playing it. It woulda been nice if you was more relaxed.

I liked it. Any negative comments? I believe he replied to 13 seconds into the video.

Very unique.
What guitar did you use to record this? It seems like a mahogany topped guitar.

Thanks! The guitar is all Tasmanian blackwood and was built by a German luthier, Heiner Dreizehnter.

It has a very special sound, quite unusual.
You are lucky to have it :)

Wow, it's cool that you wrote to him & got the results you did.
I also love the C tuning, it has a really nice sound.
