In case you hadn't noticed a Tory council is destroying the island at this time. Lovely Greenmount Primary School, which everyone fought to save, has been axed. 2 shop frontages in Upper High St are a dole office. At least Ryde has easy access to mainland. Spare a thought for Ventnor which is being yet further marginalised by Boy Wonder and a council that cares not. All 3 main parties are rubbish.

Click on the little downward pointing arrow to the right of this and a menu drops down. At the top is favourite, click this to add to favourites. Next is Queue, I think this adds the video to your queue of videos you intend to watch in the order you add them.

I Live on the isle of wight and i walk to the main part of ryde almost every day, this isn't even scary when your walking though it, the islands haunted but it's hardly a ghost town

@elliekf97 Well the island where i live is called the Isle Of The Dead due to being right in the middle of the so called Telekinetic Equator that runs around the earth as well as the normal equator. Due to that the island is haunted the entire thing. As i walked across the isle it seemed as if hundreds if not thousands of ghosts were following me.

Thats where i used to live(1:05... fun fact and fantasy rubbish) when i came to the island in the 70's as a 5 yr old when it was called Holbrooks newsagents....great memories from there.

Its so sad that this happened. Also mainly cuz harcourt sands closed i loved that place, i had been going there for about 9yrs and it is so sad that it just closed. Long live the memories, and joyus times spent at harcourt sands. :(

some of the empty shops had new businesses open up for the summer season, but what it is going to be like in the winter....only time will tell !

Seattle's Best closed down? Wow. When I was there June - December of 07 it was busy., Bliss and Playbox, where are they? And the white building with the flat on the top, is that in Sandown? Because if it is my Dad's mate moved in there with his family last I heard?

Bliss was at the bottom of Union Street on the corner of Church lane and Playbox was just around the corner on the esplanade on the opposite side to the raiway station and bus station.

All the shops featured are in Ryde, none in Sandown, these arent all of the closed down ones either but only the ones I could fit in the video.
