@SloveniaHardCore91 That's PRIDE, UFC you can't use your knees or legs in any form of strike to the head of a downed opponent. UFC is a much safer and more civilised version of MMA, and I find there is much more room for jujitsu without having to worry about getting your head stomped :D

What I find wierd is that in PRIDE they were able to stomp and knee downed opponents, but couldn't elbow strike anyone. The opposite is said about UFC and most MMA organisations...

@TOMTOMTOM1990 Well the reasoning behind the no elbow strikes to the head is because they didnt want fighters to get cut and have the fight stopped earlier than it shouldve been just because someones bleeding. Pride wanted people fighting, and stomps to the head are a very real possibility in an actual fight, they just didnt want fighters complaining about being stopped for cuts. UFC allows elbows to the head because in America, big bloody fights are entertaining.

Also, they have to keep fighting until the ref says to stop, otherwise the person could jsut get right back up and keep fighting. Also, it has to do with the adrenaline of the moment, youre just so excited when you get a knockout you just keep hitting them until youre told to stop. Its not unsportsmanlike, its just how the sport works.
