@joelddaniel Rush often has appliance items such as clothes dryers on stage as a backdrop. On this tour they had rotisserie ovens barbequing chickens. Normally, there is a guy dressed as a chef that comes out to baste the roasting chickens throughout the show. It looks like this time "Chef' found himself a chicken costume and didn't tell the band about it so the first they saw of it was when he came on stage.

In Neil's book,he talks about the band inviting different guests on-stage to do something with the props.(sword fighting crew members,people putting change in the dryers etc.)Well, one night they had Jack Black on during 2112 and of course he took it over the top. He even hit the "starman" pose,butt-crack with-standing, which reduced the band to tears of laughter.I've heard that touring with them is a blast!

Anyway, putting on a show is all about getting the audience excited and stuff. That simply does not happen anymore when one sees Neil on their new material. Just sayin'.... not trollin' about it.

@pike666db Well, if you think about the famous solo he always does, throwing the sticks and other stuff, it's hard to say he doesn't care about the audience anymore. He might look serious, but hey, maybe that's the way he is. He doesn't have to be smiling the whole time, and don't forget the effort it takes to play the drums for more than 2 hours, espesially if it's Rush whom you're talking about. Drummers have always been relegated to a secondary role regarding audience-contact in my opinion.

Hearing this very song ("The Spirit Of Radio") on my local rock radio station after midnight. From the moment I heard that song, I was hooked, and Rush became one of my fave bands, and still are today. xD Such amazing musicianship and amazing songs. So many young girls get sucked into the teenybopper fads, I feel so glad I developed a love for metal and rock music. IE real music!

Man, Geddy's voice has really gone downhill as he's aged. HOWEVER, it works in their newer songs like BU2B (Brought Up 2 Believe) and Caravan.
