I just spilled beer on my laptop and I'm fucking pissed!!!! Some of the keys are all sticky and I'm bummed as hell. I feel bad for all the people who spill shit on their laptops now cause I know how it feels.
@Digadogup Its really sticky in the keys because it was a really strong beer with alot of dissolved solids in it. I've come 2 the conclusion that I'll have 2 pop the keys off and spray it with a spray bottle w warm water on a mist setting while holding the laptop upside down. The only thing is I'll have 2 wait for it 2 dry thoroughly and I haven't been without my laptop 4 more than an 8 hour period in months and months. I don't know if I could bear going without it for any amount of waking time.

@colaidj Yeah, my laptop is like my most important possession too. I think I'm gonna try to remove the effected keys and the keyboard if necessary and mist it with warm water from a spray bottle to melt and wash away the sticky beer residue. The problem is... I can't stop using it long enough to actually do this... I'm a total internet junkie!!!
thankfully future shop replaced the thing with a new one. i dont have the 13 anymore though, sold it to save up and bought a new 2011 15inch macbook pro.

easiest thing to do is youtube how to remove macbook keys.
heck iil try and explain it, on the right side of the key theirs a hinge that slides underneath a hook thing on the keyboard, and the other side is something similar, u may notice
I'm so sorry to hear about your keyboard. I'm going through the same thing here--hoping I didn't ruin it. Just out of curiousity--how much liquid do you think you spilled? I want to say I spilled between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup of water on my macbook pro. I am still in the drying/praying stage right now; I don't think I'm going to touch it for another 2 days--poor grad student and CAN'T afford a new computer right now!
You must've been really pissed off when you did that. Flipping it over shouldn't have damaged anything, as long as it was off (so the hard drive wasn't spinning).
so how much was it to replace the keyboard for apple?

@wdb1111 HAVE YOU TRIED DRYING IT OUT WITH A HAIR DRYER, YOU MAY HAVE TO OPEN THE COMPUTER (capslock :>) up and remove most of the moisture.

haha just finished high school?
if you spilt just WATER, like i said in my other comment on the other video you should be fine after a few days
i splt a sauce on mine so it was pretty screwed. the keyboard wasnt fried or anything but, it wasnt as responsive.
keep it upside down and let the water dry and you should be fine

sucks mate, if it was a laptop it'd be no big thing, £20 for a replacement keyboard and you'd be off again.
lesson learned though i suppose, don't eat near a $1400 mac!
