Some people do it be they get to tired to play or the have to leave the room for some reason and don't want to be logged off while away. The reason it is illegal is because the computer attacks with spells and attacks that are to high level, in this case his hunter might have been attacking with bow attacks level 71-75 like black arrow or chimera sting
