at 1:27, what is that thing that crumbles right before the building falls? Also, is it just me or does it not look like wtc had *that* much damage to it, looking at it on this video it looks okay, other buildings around it look much worse and were closer to wtc 1 and 2. WTC 7 is clearly ablaze in gray smoke. I heard somewhere that black smoke indicates the fire is cooling. Is this correct?

@nofxmike06 Partly correct. If the fires were cool there would be a much weaker combustion. The fire triangle demonstrates this. heat - oxygen - fuel. If you lower the heat, you cannot combust the oxygen and fuel properly, thus far less potential energy is released from the reaction. The smoke is condensate, unburned particulate matter, Co or Co2 depending on combustion efficiency, and uncombusted gas. More smoke, less heat. H2O would make gray smoke, but they were not fighting these fires.

@IranContraScumDid911 Black smoke can also be a sign of an oxygen starved fire. Way too much fuel for the given amount of oxygen. Or a pile of tires burning which seems unlikely. 6 tires tops in one and 5 in the other with one landing on the street.

@SlackerSlayer That is why I said partly correct. Heat is just one factor in the fire triangle. If you remove any of the parts making the chemistry unbalanced, you will get a poor combustion. Your example is the scenario we had inside the towers, lots of fuel, very little oxygen in a smoke filled enclosed space, thus low heat. When carbon based fuel is poorly combusted you get lots of black smoke. The gray smoke our friend above was speaking of is obviously from explosives.

@nofxmike06 no steel structure has ever collapsed in a free fall from total fire. If there was fire it would bend to side or snap to side. Not fall fast down. Even melted steel has a lot of resistance it becomes plyable. Look at how they held up in Japan swinging back and forth, very strong.

The penthouse on top, personally I think proves controlled demolition. It was never on fire that I know of, and you could see it collapse into itself perfectly, then the building.
