In English, combined words such as the one you presented are called "portmanteaus." There are many portmanteaus in sign language as well. Another example I can think of is the sign for "Facebook," which I have seen as a combination of the signs "face" and "book." For a right-handed signer, the right hand opens and closes a book on the right cheek.
