I don't think that kids movies should display religous beliefes of any sort, its kind of brainwashing them in a way, a hundred years ago people were getting religion shoved down their throughts but now its aithism, I don't like having any person's oppion enforced upon me and the plot was basically "we have to get here, take us there" so I didn't find any real redeaming value in this movie.

This movie, in my opinion, kicked ass.

I really hoped you would point out the Star Wars bar scene part where thery're dressed up in the costumes.

I think what Disney was trying to do, was give the audience a movie that adults/young adults would really enjoy.

And since kids want to do what older kids do, they would have positive reaction from the younger viewing audience as well.

What the hell is this stuff about "there are never guns or violence in Disney films!!" In the original 1975 movie the bad guys were chasing the two kids with.......guns! Ever see The Black Hole?? Laser guns everywhere. The list goes on and on. Producers, directors, and actors LOVE guns...they just don't want people to have any for some psychotic reason...other than their bodyguards!

It is not a remake!!!! The idea came from the original movie, but it had more to it than expected. I saw both "Escape to witch mountain" and "Return to Witch Mountain" as it was nothing like this move: Race to witch mountain

I strongly suggest watching this movie as it was great!

Concerning the movie it was great. I am old enough to have seen the first two movie. It was nice to see the first two actors in it. Tony was the sheriff in Stonney Chreek and Tia was the waitress. The movie was one that I would take my kids to see again.

i remember the original when i was a little kid. that one had a great story, all about the kids (who gave great performances), very charming. this one looks like generic action crap, more about explosions than story. don't get me wrong, i like explosions, but throw some freakin story in once in a while.

I remember I used to watch the original Witch Mountain all the time growing up, so obviously I'm somewhat skeptical of a remake that relies more on special effects and action sequences than the interaction between the two kids and the adults. Hmm, is AnnaSophia Robb the new poster girl for Disney now? I remember her in Bridge to Terabithia, which also had a pretty damn disturbing plot twist in it involving her character for a Disney movie (I'm not gonna spoil it, but people who watched it will definitely know what I'm talking about). I kinda like Disney's pushing its boundries now and is incorporating some more "adult" themes into their films. Other than that, this looks like your basic sci-fi action movie, nothing spectacular.

I reckon they really trimmed down the original material to fit it all in a single movie, kinda like what they did to Chronicles of Narnia and The Golden Compass. Especially the latter is a sad example of the whole meaning of the original book just going to waste and making it into a nice and easy little story for the kiddies to read.

No guns in a disney movie hello fox and the hound the hound's ownert carried a rifle.
