I don't believe the other leaders connived to not shake Bush's hand. Having said that, it shouldn't matter if Bush had already greeted them before - he should have done it again for formality's sake and to avoid an embarrassing misunderstanding.
I will say this, I think it was very disrespectful how the first reporter handled the original story. I am ashamed of how he spoke about the President.
I do not agree with all of the Presidents actions while in office, but I respect his position and believe he is a good person.
What does "oooops take two" at 1:28 have to do with anything? It's obvious the "snub" in question took place on the first take. The second take is irrelevant to this story. It was just thrown in there to make people think maybe the President shook hands with everyone on the first take.
It's not very interesting to me and even if people think a second picture is interesting, it's a separate story not related to this story.
I am American and I know how our media works. Throwing in the comment of the second take is trying to imply that is why there was no need to shake hands again.
Sorry but I find this video to be the false information. How did the President get to greet every single world leader that same day without them ever getting a chance to talk to each other? Do you really believe everyone talks to President Bush and nobody else talks to each other?
Also, why does this reporter mention the Argentina leader arriving late and the "oooops take two" comment as if the video of everyone shaking each other's hand except President Bush was the second take.
1) Bush first greeted each member of the summit the night before at a dinner he hosted. At that summit each leader mingled and greeted one-another.
2) The video in this clip shows each leader arriving one-by-one at the summit itself. Bush greeted each one when they arrived, but they did not interact with each other until the handshake in the supposed snub video.
Ha, your comment disproves your own posted video. You say the other leaders mingled, yet your posted video implies that only the President was able to previously shake hands with leaders.
Do you really believe no other leaders had a chance to shake each other's hand previously? So your theory is that all the other world leaders are recluses that only shook hands with President Bush previous to the photo opportunity and nobody else?
Are you really this dumb? Seriously, is there a language barrier you are crossing here?
There were two separate events. A dinner the night before and a summit the next day.
Every leader met and interacted at the dinner the night before. The next day each leader arrived one-by-one to be greeted by Bush, who was the host of the event.
Since the leaders arrived one-by-one they did not interact the day of the summit until the group photo. Bush had already greeted each of them that day.
1) Because in order to believe that all the G20 leaders snubbed Bush you have to believe they all conspired to take exactly the same action to embarrass him in front of the world press.
2) Because there is video evidence backing it up. When you see the video of Bush shaking hands with each world leader, that is video CNN took minutes before the clip that caused all this controversy.
3) CNN's Sanchez is a complete and total moron. I Google searched, Bush Good Man and got 10 million results.
I agree Sanchez was disrespectful and not professional, however this video you posted is very dishonest. Do you expect me to believe everyone talked to President Bush that day without anyone talking to each other?
If this reporter wasn't trying to dishonestly sway opinion, she wouldn't even mention the "oooops take two" which has nothing to do with the story.
1) Every world leader including Bush greeted each other for the first time at a dinner the night before hosted by Bush. If you search for G20 dinner you will find footage of this. You'll note that each leader is jovial and warmly greeting Bush in front of the press.
2) The hand shaking you see in this footage is of each leader arriving at the summit itself. Each one arrived one-at-a-time and Bush greeted them one-by-one.

No it was not. I never interpreted the "take two" as anything other than an interesting anecdote.
If you are really this concerned, go to CSPAN, find the unedited video and watch it yourself. You are really making yourself look dull witted.

Oh really, so why even mention there was a second take? It has nothing to do with this story.
Your personal attacks on my intelligence speak for themselves.

The reporter mentioned the second take because it was an interesting event that took place with the group photo that was not previously reported.
There was no attempt at manipulation here. This reporter is not pro-Bush.

There are still people here on you tube that havent seen this video and it is funny to read their posts on the snub videos.
It is funny because these are the same useless, misinformed, brain dead people that voted for Obama.

1. "CNN retracts the conspiracy theory that Sanchez put forward earlier."
Uh...how exactly is the idea that foreign leaders didn't want to shake Bush's hand a CONSPIRACY theory?
2. Why does CNN take an explanation coming from the White House as a Gospel truth refutation?
