well it was not a invasion, it was a counter attack against the newly announced republic of indonesia ( indonesian nationalists ) they came in conflict with the british army who had taken back indonesia from the japanese for the dutch. and thats why the netherlands decided to fight back 19 december 1948 till 5 januari 1949
im not sure how many they killed it was said to be around 16000 civilians and only a few soldiers, it was fought on sumatra and java and it ended up in the netherlands only owning a piece of indonesia named ( Nieuw-Guinea ) which was claimed by the indonesian goverment later on in (1961-1963) and as soon as that happent the united states forced our country to give it back to the indonesians.

the politionele act was a reaction from the netherlands after indonesia tried to fight for their independance from the netherlands after WW2, after we lost it in ww2 becaus of japan the indonesians tried to break free and succeded so our country marched in its army together with some others to whipe out a large amount of people to restore order. but it failed caus in ( not sure ) around 1960 we had to give away the last piece of indonesia becaus the NATO said so

well it was not a invasion, it was a counter attack against the newly announced republic of indonesia ( indonesian nationalists ) they came in conflict with the british army who had taken back indonesia from the japanese for the dutch. and thats why the netherlands decided to fight back 19 december 1948 till 5 januari 1949

im not sure how many they killed it was said to be around 16000 civilians and only a few soldiers, it was fought on sumatra and java and it ended up in the netherlands only owning a piece of indonesia named ( Nieuw-Guinea ) which was claimed by the indonesian goverment later on in (1961-1963) and as soon as that happent the united states forced our country to give it back to the indonesians.

Mooie plaatjes en dus informatie. Mijn opa heeft van ca. 1910 tot juni 1934 gediend bij de KNIL. Bij de infanterie en als ziekenverpleger. Waar kan deze informatie nog verder ingezien worden? Of waar is meer informatie te verkrijgen? Zijn ook al in Bronbeek geweest en bij familie navraag gedaan.

Ik begrijp, dat jij niet Nederlands-Indie bedoelt, want toen heerste er nog orde en welvaart, nu alleen nog maar orde en chaos. Ik kan mij levendig voorstellen, dat velen stilletjes weer terugverlangen naar die goede oude Nederlandse tijd.....en ik kan hen geen ongelijk geven.

helemaal waar. fok al die mensen die de nederlanders alleen maar als onderdrukkers bestempellen. we hebben daar zat goede dingen gedaan, en we vochten zij aan zij met de indonesiers. we hadden het nooit moeten weggeven.

@1xindox1 Waanzinnig domme reaktie dit. Ten eerste weet jij er niks van omdat je niet eens Nederlander bent, ten tweede schilder je buitenlanders af als een groep, of geheel. En ten derde doe je alsof die zogenaamd eensgezinde groep ons land zou overnemen.ik zeg je eerlijk, ik heb ook wel eens last van buitenlanders, maar overname kunnen we dat toch niet echt noemen, je schat jezelf iets te hoog in. Ik heb vroeger ook op straat gehangen als puber, maar ik dacht niet dat ik staatsgevaarlijk was

Very Good Collection of KNIL era picture in the east indies. Few of my relatives were in KNIL and also Marechaussee (?iam not sure how it spelled?) before the 1945 independence ... Do you have the list of the song played in this video?
