I agree with Rudy ..McCain was brave when he was shot over Hanoi... But Rudy forgot to mention something ..He was shot over Hanoi ..and 57000 of our brave men and women died in Viet Nam Because of people like McCain...So did 5000 of our brave men and women lost their lives in Iraq. Rudy is making the case why we should NOT vote for McCain.
What lead you to this conclusion ( that I am ungrateful)?..you are very wrong...I am so grateful and appreciative of our military that's why I want them out of harms way; where they are fighting unlawful war for the oil companies and forign country (Israel).
Just because he has his own personal opinion and can think outside of the flock, doesn't make him ungrateful. The fact is Vietnam War was a war that achieved nothing. You're allowed to commend the men and women who served, while condemning the leaders in government who sent them there who didn't serve. Get your dick out of the American apple pie and learn to have respect for other people's independent thoughts and ideas.
Mr. McCain wants to diassociate himself from his party now. Not to forget the current president. But still depends on same old strategy & policies. Elected Palin, rope in Hillary voters. Make the rest do the dirty work, abuse the opponent. And STILL have a clean image.
If this is what we get on campaign trail.. hmmm... And, guess what, 'deeds truly do speak louder than words!!'.
A leader need not know everything. Just the humility to hire the right person for the right job.
God I thought he would never stop talking. I kept hoping a long cane would snake out from behind the curtain and pull him off. Another fucking actor with more make up on than a French whore. My friend.. do you seriously think showing our might and strength & willingness to fight is the answer. A suicide bomber doesnt care about our military strength or how advanced our weapons are?? Being approachable is not a show of weakness.. We have already established our superiority and excellence in everything we do.
We all want our sons , daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, & eachother to come home. That is the goal for everyone including both canadites! I just don't think kissing the terrorist ass is the way to go about it.
Such speeches are good. why? Because, such speeches show everyone what the Republican party of now has been reduced to - fabrications, hypocrisy, crassness and indecency. I respect Mccain deeply, but not his party and what he has been forced to become - I think he might make amends, if he becomes president. But Obama is many nothes higher, so all independent thinkers and readers - unite and teach the GOP a lesson that they will not forget for the next 8-16 years.

That's correct, which is WHY THAT WAS ADDRESSED the first night by Thompson, but the point is that, he willingly stayed in a hellish state of torture & terror for almost 6 yrs, even when offered early release BY SELLING OUT HIS COUNTRY...McCAIN said "No thanks". Repeatedly. If that's not putting your country first, then I don't know what the hell would be. The point is that someone who LOVES AMERICA SO MUCH would be a phenomenal president.
A manager (US voters) finds his company (the US)in terrible condition and is screening 2 candidates to make changes. Candidate 1 has done the same work for 25 years, without accomplishing anything notable IN HIS JOB but has a great military history. A coworker(G.W. Bush) beat him for the job before, but now he's trying again. His ideas seem out of touch with the 21st Century. Candidate 2 has a shorter resume, but smart, fresh ideas on making real future changes. I'd hire #2
Hahaha. You have the analogy all wrong. Candidate 1 has 25 years of experience and HAS accomplished a lot. Including, often going against his "boss" (the Republican party) for the betterment of the company (country). # 2 has done nothing but is full of unsubstantiated claims about what he thinks he can do. Some day if you ever run a business your thinking will ruin you. I hire people based on what they've done, not based on what they tell me they can do. Too great a risk...especially for the USA
Oh, and Barack Obama has LEAD a much more successful campaign than Mr 9/11 who thought that WAITING until Florida would be just fine, lmao!!
And HIS judgment is supposed to mean ANYTHING at this point -- a lose criticizing a MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE -- you know, the one who actually BECAME the NOMINEE.
What's with the libeal bias on the bottom of the screen? Here are some facts against the person speaking... at least within his part. What do they put up there during Obama speeches? Shhh the one is speaking.
Viciously slamming someone is what makes a superb speech? Really?? Not, say, telling us how your candidate is going to address issues like the economy, the war, and preserving personal freedom? The level of this campaign just dropped into the gutter. Being a community organizer is tough, gritty, thankless work. Claiming to be a "maverick" while you present vague solutions that sound a great deal like what hasn't work over the past eight years does not make you a leader.
Neither does serving in the armed forced or being tortured. What matters is what these men did *after* these experiences. McCain has served in the Senate. Tell me about that. Obama is a civil rights lawyer and helped pass legislation on things like electoral fraud. The republicans only seem to care about experience when they're dismissing the Dem candidates. Tell me about McCain's experience and don't expect me to take a VP candidate with 21 months of experience as a governor seriously.
Gimmie a break as if Obamma didn't slam McCain. He just couldn't do it AS bad, only cause there's not nearly enough dirt on McCain as there is on Obama! GIMME 2 breaks cause being a community organizer isn't no more than being a participator in a damn neighborhood watch program! It isn't jack compared to being the pres. of the USA!
Of course Obama could. For instance, McCain made his career by resisting the main Repub party. Yet he's bowed down to Bush and Co. so fast I'm surprised he doesn't have rug burns on his face. Flip flop much? McCain accuses Obama of being elitist despite having so many houses he can't keep them straight and a wife who wears 300,000+ in precious jewels. Sounds elite to me. We fought a a war to defend the idea that common men can lead themselves. Let's move past insults.
Unlike Obama, McCain didn't need people to take to the podium and say "this is what he will do". They can actually talk about what he HAS done. It's our job, as voters, to decide based on that. Further, as demotheses said, most of Rudy's speech WAS about McCain. What's more, Obama had been very unstatesmanlike and sarcastic in his DNC speech. This was beneath McCain so Rudy and Palin "did the deed" and crushed his credibility (see any recent polls for the "awakening effect" by voters).
Obama was sarcastic and unstatesmanlike? Talking about what you are going to do and arguing that the other candidate can't do it is what ranks as unstatesmanlike? Then what does sneering at and mocking your opponent count as? And most polls but Obama and McCain within a point of each other, with a 3 point margin of error. This election is going to come down to the undecided voters in states using defunct machines (for e.g. Ohio). In fact, it will be lawyers deciding the outcome.
What Mccain did was vote with the absolute worst president in our nations history 95% of the time. That alone disqualifes him from consideration. Also, Rudy G is the one who said on 911 "thank god george w bush is our president." You cant even imagine how many times you would have heard that quote repeated in DNC attack ads on Guiliani had he been the republican nominee.
Rudy helped botch the recovery of 911. Why didnt he arrange for copters to fly to the top of the towers to save lives?
Palin is the best candidate of the bunch. Obmama is nothing but a thug's pawn. Great orator, as long as he has a teleprompter in front of him. Read "OBMAM NATION" for the real truth about this man.
Well said. I love watching Obama speak--make that TRY TO speak--extemporaneously. Ummm, errr, ummm. His brain is working overtime trying NOT to say anything that might lose one vote from the deluded. O'Reilly gave it to him FAST AND FURIOUS. Made him flip flop on lots of things he said before. Like, all of a sudden, he's open to nuclear energy, won't negotiate with terrorists, etc. He is a sad, sad panderer. Too bad most people are roped in by "bumper sticker" politics.
People who think like Sen.McTHESAME have managed to bring USA where it is now going DOWN HILL the world has changed there is a need for a great leader
Ninigreen Incase you didn't realize most of the government is democratic. Just cause our pres. is a REPUBLICAN He's only 1 man out of the whole "experienced" crew. Don't blame 1 man for all thats gone wrong. Granted he's an influence but He's not the ONLY reason. Reality will smack Obama in the face if the war arrives on our own dirt. I don't think he will know how to handle it either. Incase you didn't realize, terrorist DONT WANT TO TALK ! I don't thinking "talking" will garentee saftey.
emb1801-Thank you for your comment I understand that they are just a small cog in a BIG machine, but we do have to give people the benefit of the doubt THE EXPERIENCED ONES have not done much sorry
Is ninigreen7 saying that we give terrorists the benefit of the doubt? Is he saying that because a government made of experienced dems and reps has led us to where we are that we should let inexperienced dems and reps run the country? My friends, this is why there need to be some kind of educational requirements for voting.
alexrivera03-Thank you for your comment the terrorists have a network in around 60 countries is is a very DANGEROUS picture America needs a LEADER with intelligence to deal with this problem NOT A WAR MONGER America has MANY war mongers ALL DEAD, yes I agree SOME Americans need to educate themselves
Vision and charisma, huh? Could you please help Barack Obama enumerate said vision? He's not doing such a hot job of that right now; in fact, what I've seen lately is that Obama is trying to run against the VP nominee of the GOP, and mostly just attacking her. I guess running against John S. McCain is just too hard for the community organizer.
Well!you have the choice vote McTHESAME an old war hero,a war monger What else?at least a community organizer has shown much more understanding, better options than BOMBING the rest of the world sorry
ManOfSteel607-Senator Obama without having so much experience have managed his campaign well so far,has shown leadership, cooperation, open mindness, judgement USA needs a leader NOT a war monger
I'm disappointed.. New York City, born, raised, and present during the 9/11 attacks in viewing distance, I feel Rudy Giuliani is using our tragedy as political propaganda. Shame shame..
moz your callin me ignorant but you'd rather vote for some guy that popped out of nowhere just cause he says the magic word "change" and has a D after his name! RIIIIght?!?!?! When Obama can tell me some life experiences besides praising Allah and going to some cockface revern that screams "GOD DAMN AMERICA!" maybe I'd listen to what he has to say. As of now ... NO THANKS.
I just don't understand the Obama hype. He's a product of the media and Oprah. He really has no leadership experience. Joe Torre has more leadership experience than Obama. They want a minority president so bad that people are jumping on the band wagon as fast as they can rather than finding someone who is right for the job. I have no problem with a minority president as long as they're qualified to do the job. A great public speaker doesn't make you a good president.
Giuliani didn't put a dent in Obama's momentum, because Rudy has absolutely no credibility. Maybe Rudy should have spent less time trying to hammer Obama and more time speaking about his boy McCain.
It wasn't Rudy's job to speak about McCain--McCain's record speaks for him (funny how because of Obama, a lot of libs think a convention is where people come to talk about the candidate. As you saw at the RNC, it's supposed to be a place to talk about accomplishments) His job to wake up some liberal sheep and show them the absurdity of their choice. And...it worked like a charm. The Democratic ticket is in freefall. McCain/Palin lead by 10% in likely voter polls. I'd say more than a dent!
@SatNamTree I agree RUDY has no credibility PERIOD, his claim to fame was riding the 9/11 horse and before that , taking credit for plans laid down by the mayor before him, He is an low life willfully ignorant bigot, like most REPUBLICANS
Voting "present" is not a cop-out..if the law written doesn't quite meet your standards but you want to continue fighting to get it revised, then "no" won't do anything but help to kill it dead.
Sorry, voting "present" 130 times (!!!) as a senator is a clear strategy to keep your record clear of having voted up or down for anything. Bills don't go back for consideration if a certain number of reps or senators have only voted "present". You're just wrong. It's typical Obama though. In 1999 Obama had a vote in the IL legislature to either vote for or against trying kids as adults. AYE=tough on crime, NAY=arouse ire from blacks. Guess how he voted? Present! He's an indecisive loser, sorry.
Normally I'd tell you to find it yourself but in the hopes of illuminating some sheep who refuse to hear the truth, here's the article: nytimes. com/2007/12/20/us/politics/20obama.html?_r=1&oref=slogin Now ask yourself how bad of an issue-dodger Obama must be to get called out by even the liberal NY Times for his voting antics.
Wasn't implying that YOU were one of the kool-aid drinking "sheep"; my apologies. The fact that you asked for a source told me that you were not, and that you're one of the few open-minded people here willing to do some homework. More importantly, you're willing to make your own decisions based on fact and not have your decisions made for you by crafty ads and a biased media.
I love it! Giuliani was always a straight-talker here in NY--that's what got him elected twice as the mayor of one of the country's most liberal cities. He brought that candor to the convention in his keynote speech. Obama, Biden and the entire Dem party got PWNED!!! Gotta love him for cutting through all the bull end exposing Obama as an empty suit who's never done ANYTHING! And Biden as an insider who's done EVERYTHING WRONG! Best thing, Obama camp can't do damage control since it's all truth
No, it's just that Giuliani campaigned on nothing but being the Mayor of 9/11. McCain is campaigning solely on "I was a POW"
So what else is Giuliani going to talk about? 9/11 and POW. That's all he has to peddle - fear and the ridiculous conclusion that somehow being captured during war instills someone with superhuman intelligence. It doesn't. we're finishing 8 years of disaster by an idiot who wasn't up to the job, we don't need 8 more.
I agree. When they realised that feeding us fear wont work.. they regrouped to feed change. Because thats what we want to hear!!!
I totally dont respect people who make fun of other peoples effort. Mr. Giulliani just lost my respect with his speech. And i dont want to even call it a speech!
Making fun of Obama was necessary to point out his ineptitude. And it worked! People are waking up and switching sides. Until Rudy, no one had called out Obama on being an empty suit. He has no accomplishments, is a vote-dodger and used every office held as a platform to aim for a higher office. In the community that he organized births out of wedlock were at 90% and there were 100s of murders per year. Giuliani had to take him down a notch and wake up the voters...then Palin just buried him.
Giuliani did a lot more than campaign on being Mayor of NYC. Check your facts. He turned a city in ruin from decades of democratic neglect into the pinnacle of safety, and opportunity. When Giuliani got into office he changed welfare into "workfare", wherein the able-bodied had to work for their check and food stamps by picking up trash, removing grafitti, etc. All of a sudden, as if by miracle, half the welfare roll got off their couches and got jobs. Crime went to 30 year lows, etc. etc. etc.
Rudy would be a superb Homeland Security Chief in a McCain/Palin administration. The guy lived through the agony of 9-11 in his city. Guiliani is a superb speaker and did it again at the RNC.
How...stirring.
That "community organizer" bit had me in stitches too.
This actually makes me want to vote so I don't have to hear this hobnobbery anymore.

Too great a risk...especially for the USA
alexrivera03 3 years ago
Oh, and Barack Obama has LEAD a much more successful campaign than Mr 9/11 who thought that WAITING until Florida would be just fine, lmao!!
And HIS judgment is supposed to mean ANYTHING at this point -- a lose criticizing a MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE -- you know, the one who actually BECAME the NOMINEE.

What's with the libeal bias on the bottom of the screen? Here are some facts against the person speaking... at least within his part. What do they put up there during Obama speeches? Shhh the one is speaking.
demotheses 3 years ago
Viciously slamming someone is what makes a superb speech? Really?? Not, say, telling us how your candidate is going to address issues like the economy, the war, and preserving personal freedom? The level of this campaign just dropped into the gutter. Being a community organizer is tough, gritty, thankless work. Claiming to be a "maverick" while you present vague solutions that sound a great deal like what hasn't work over the past eight years does not make you a leader.
catscrashing 3 years ago
Most of the speech is about McCain.
And nobody said community organizer isn't a hard job that deserves reward. But it doesn't qualify you to be president.
demotheses 3 years ago

It isn't jack compared to being the pres. of the USA!
emb1801 3 years ago
Of course Obama could. For instance, McCain made his career by resisting the main Repub party. Yet he's bowed down to Bush and Co. so fast I'm surprised he doesn't have rug burns on his face. Flip flop much? McCain accuses Obama of being elitist despite having so many houses he can't keep them straight and a wife who wears 300,000+ in precious jewels. Sounds elite to me. We fought a a war to defend the idea that common men can lead themselves. Let's move past insults.
catscrashing 3 years ago
Unlike Obama, McCain didn't need people to take to the podium and say "this is what he will do". They can actually talk about what he HAS done. It's our job, as voters, to decide based on that. Further, as demotheses said, most of Rudy's speech WAS about McCain. What's more, Obama had been very unstatesmanlike and sarcastic in his DNC speech. This was beneath McCain so Rudy and Palin "did the deed" and crushed his credibility (see any recent polls for the "awakening effect" by voters).
alexrivera03 3 years ago
Obama was sarcastic and unstatesmanlike? Talking about what you are going to do and arguing that the other candidate can't do it is what ranks as unstatesmanlike? Then what does sneering at and mocking your opponent count as? And most polls but Obama and McCain within a point of each other, with a 3 point margin of error. This election is going to come down to the undecided voters in states using defunct machines (for e.g. Ohio). In fact, it will be lawyers deciding the outcome.
catscrashing 3 years ago
and you think Rudy was statesman like????/ Rudy said the shoe bomber was before 9/11 what an polictical opportunist
dvdlps22 2 years ago
What Mccain did was vote with the absolute worst president in our nations history 95% of the time. That alone disqualifes him from consideration. Also, Rudy G is the one who said on 911 "thank god george w bush is our president." You cant even imagine how many times you would have heard that quote repeated in DNC attack ads on Guiliani had he been the republican nominee.
Rudy helped botch the recovery of 911. Why didnt he arrange for copters to fly to the top of the towers to save lives?
rawn4203 2 years ago
Palin is the best candidate of the bunch. Obmama is nothing but a thug's pawn. Great orator, as long as he has a teleprompter in front of him. Read "OBMAM NATION" for the real truth about this man.
All the way McCain/Palin. You got our vote.
jilltkennedy 3 years ago 2

"For President of the United States, it's not good enough to be present. You have to make a decision." Where are Obama's decisions?
Oh yeah; he decided to run for President. That obviously qualifies him for the job, right lefties?

The EXPERIENCED ones managed to bring USA where it is now NOWHERE
ninigreen7 3 years ago
Ninigreen Incase you didn't realize most of the government is democratic. Just cause our pres. is a REPUBLICAN He's only 1 man out of the whole "experienced" crew. Don't blame 1 man for all thats gone wrong. Granted he's an influence but He's not the ONLY reason. Reality will smack Obama in the face if the war arrives on our own dirt. I don't think he will know how to handle it either. Incase you didn't realize, terrorist DONT WANT TO TALK ! I don't thinking "talking" will garentee saftey.

emb1801-Thank you for your comment I understand that they are just a small cog in a BIG machine, but we do have to give people the benefit of the doubt THE EXPERIENCED ONES have not done much sorry
ninigreen7 3 years ago
Is ninigreen7 saying that we give terrorists the benefit of the doubt? Is he saying that because a government made of experienced dems and reps has led us to where we are that we should let inexperienced dems and reps run the country? My friends, this is why there need to be some kind of educational requirements for voting.
alexrivera03 3 years ago
alexrivera03-Thank you for your comment the terrorists have a network in around 60 countries is is a very DANGEROUS picture America needs a LEADER with intelligence to deal with this problem NOT A WAR MONGER America has MANY war mongers ALL DEAD, yes I agree SOME Americans need to educate themselves

Senator Obama all the way AMERICA COMES FIRST WITH THE WORLD
ninigreen7 3 years ago
Vision and charisma, huh? Could you please help Barack Obama enumerate said vision? He's not doing such a hot job of that right now; in fact, what I've seen lately is that Obama is trying to run against the VP nominee of the GOP, and mostly just attacking her. I guess running against John S. McCain is just too hard for the community organizer.
ManOfSteel607 3 years ago 2
Well!you have the choice vote McTHESAME an old war hero,a war monger What else?at least a community organizer has shown much more understanding, better options than BOMBING the rest of the world sorry

"Guiliani Speech Gives Obama Two Black Eyes?"
That's about as delusional as saying "MyChurchDate doesn't want to profit off of folks with REAL faith."
mightychewizzle 3 years ago
Giuliani didn't put a dent in Obama's momentum, because Rudy has absolutely no credibility. Maybe Rudy should have spent less time trying to hammer Obama and more time speaking about his boy McCain.
SatNamTree 3 years ago 2
It wasn't Rudy's job to speak about McCain--McCain's record speaks for him (funny how because of Obama, a lot of libs think a convention is where people come to talk about the candidate. As you saw at the RNC, it's supposed to be a place to talk about accomplishments) His job to wake up some liberal sheep and show them the absurdity of their choice. And...it worked like a charm. The Democratic ticket is in freefall. McCain/Palin lead by 10% in likely voter polls. I'd say more than a dent!
alexrivera03 3 years ago
Whatever comes out of Rudy's mouth will have little to no credibility.
SatNamTree 3 years ago 2
@SatNamTree I agree RUDY has no credibility PERIOD, his claim to fame was riding the 9/11 horse and before that , taking credit for plans laid down by the mayor before him, He is an low life willfully ignorant bigot, like most REPUBLICANS

Voting "present" is not a cop-out..if the law written doesn't quite meet your standards but you want to continue fighting to get it revised, then "no" won't do anything but help to kill it dead.
cjh8 3 years ago
Sorry, voting "present" 130 times (!!!) as a senator is a clear strategy to keep your record clear of having voted up or down for anything. Bills don't go back for consideration if a certain number of reps or senators have only voted "present". You're just wrong. It's typical Obama though. In 1999 Obama had a vote in the IL legislature to either vote for or against trying kids as adults. AYE=tough on crime, NAY=arouse ire from blacks. Guess how he voted? Present! He's an indecisive loser, sorry.
alexrivera03 3 years ago
show me the source of your info.
cjh8 3 years ago
Normally I'd tell you to find it yourself but in the hopes of illuminating some sheep who refuse to hear the truth, here's the article: nytimes. com/2007/12/20/us/politics/20obama.html?_r=1&oref=slogin Now ask yourself how bad of an issue-dodger Obama must be to get called out by even the liberal NY Times for his voting antics.
alexrivera03 3 years ago
For the record, when I asked for the source of the info, I wasn't being sarcastic; it was a genuine question. I'm not a sheep.
cjh8 3 years ago
Wasn't implying that YOU were one of the kool-aid drinking "sheep"; my apologies. The fact that you asked for a source told me that you were not, and that you're one of the few open-minded people here willing to do some homework. More importantly, you're willing to make your own decisions based on fact and not have your decisions made for you by crafty ads and a biased media.
alexrivera03 3 years ago
Best thing, Obama camp can't do damage control since it's all truth

you should do the "Shorter Obama" from the dnc spectacular! Do all obama supporters listen in fragments?
sirwin1111 3 years ago

And i dont want to even call it a speech!
consult76 3 years ago
Making fun of Obama was necessary to point out his ineptitude. And it worked! People are waking up and switching sides. Until Rudy, no one had called out Obama on being an empty suit. He has no accomplishments, is a vote-dodger and used every office held as a platform to aim for a higher office. In the community that he organized births out of wedlock were at 90% and there were 100s of murders per year. Giuliani had to take him down a notch and wake up the voters...then Palin just buried him.
alexrivera03 3 years ago
Giuliani did a lot more than campaign on being Mayor of NYC. Check your facts. He turned a city in ruin from decades of democratic neglect into the pinnacle of safety, and opportunity. When Giuliani got into office he changed welfare into "workfare", wherein the able-bodied had to work for their check and food stamps by picking up trash, removing grafitti, etc. All of a sudden, as if by miracle, half the welfare roll got off their couches and got jobs. Crime went to 30 year lows, etc. etc. etc.
