I've actually asked Michael About what ya'll are kind of arguing about. He makes the music that God inspires him to. Sometimes, in order to reach a secular crowd the music has to kind of sound like it would on the radio, but its still God inspired and has a positive Godly message. Lately, his heart is 100% in making Worship music to bring people to the feet of Christ. That's his hearts song now. And he's really good at what he does.

@drush5201 no, after he got clean from drugs, and while still doing that fysically he played in a band(higher ground) on keyboard. and after that he started solo.

God is so important to him so why making non christian music as there is so many of that already. :-)

for money?? well that,s not really that important, and with his concerts,worldtours and cd sales he earns enough to keep his family fed me thinks.

@ultrabluebear many Christian artists do some songs that are just about life in general and there's nothing wrong with that. Switchfoot, Tobymac, and many other artists who are Christian write songs from perspectives of other people searching for something or struggling with something, or they write songs about being there for someone when they need it. that doesn't mean they have wrong motives for their music. there are many issues in life that people deal with who need encouragement.

This is such a pretty song & it takes me back to memory lane to when it was a big hit when it first came out in the Spring of 1993. This song also reminds me of what its like being single and alone especially after being dumped and trying to find someone new who is compatible. This song kind of makes you wanna cry in a way too.

I myself found out long ago that in every dark situation there is some light to be found, if you want to find it. It's really sad that the worst critics are professing Christians all because they focus more on what's outside than what's inside.
