  • How Pretty.

  • Kirov equals one big ass arrow to the knee of Imperial Army.

  • Kirov Reporting.

  • Doesn't this play whenever you make first contact with the enemy in MP?

  • How I miss there you are? - Kirov

  • "Hmmm...do you smell them?"-Kirov airships

  • These airships show the true power of the USSR! GO KIROVS! GET THOSE F**KIN MECHAS!!!

  • @AndrewtheDuke Said the same thing when i did the soviet mission to kill the Emperor, then Yukiko said "**** no" and dropped them like lead balloons...literally dropped them. from the sky. like lead. balloons.

  • @OneLastEcho

Yeah, you're right, to counter that I always have desolator bomb ready, drop it in front of enemy dojo.

  • sounded alot like Cod4

  • o was that your house?

  • I'M A GEEVER

  • Bombing base ready!

  • Kirov: "!Closing on target!"

  • -poor allied idiots start the bombing -OMG jet tengus reatreat

    -sir we are giong down

    -aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    boooooooooom

  • Give me 10 sharpened pencils and I will give you ten (downed) Kirovs.

  • 5 dreadnaught can destroy in secs builds with skill auto damge for more cast fire missiles. 1 Yuriko can kil air enemis two can kill enything in sky in the sea one tanja if u are fast like delfin im more fast with shots one shot one kill :)... ah and if u have especial build waiting that iron cutania or nuclear missile end for stop me ... i will see who kill more fast :P

  • Give me 5 Dreadnaught 1 repearnavyportship 2 Yuriko and tanja and i give u the univers :D

  • jet engines on kirovs = ???

  • A modern laser-based missile-defense system and self healing skin (the technology for which has existed since WWII) could make an airship more viable. The heavy load it carries could allow a sizable bomb load in spite of this burden.

  • @AmfleetII Since when did we have self healing skin?

  • @casdfdfsdfds

One of the major superiorities of allied aircraft during WWII was the self-resealing fuel tanks on aircraft, which resealed a punctured tank. By now I should think it can be done on a larger scale. With a low-enough hull pressure, an airship wouldn't deflate or explode catastrophically. Popular Science recently had an article on this.

  • A Kirov! A Kirov! All My Base for a Kirov!

  • if the kirov were faster, it would be the ultimate unit!

  • Can i has soviet warship...

  • I want a kirov figurine!

  • Kirovs are some of the few things that may classify as a "You win" unit. Enough of them can get through any defense by sheer attrition and then bye bye base.

  • greatest thing: everyone expects you to attack with tanks if you have a soviet army, so they build up anti tank defenses. Then, when you hit em with a horde of flak and tesla troopers, game over man, game over.

  • @TheZombieMack Usually I just build a super-reactor in the enemy base =D

  • the japs have an unfair advantage in the air with those damn rocket bitches! they can easily massacre my kirovs... unless, of course, i build 20 of them

  • Kirov is definetly my fav aircraft and vehicle of all vehicles.. just the destroying power of it :D To bad they are so slow.. but although a airship like a kirov going as fast as a jet would be realy crappy lol That would be epic win

  • imagine red alert 4 kirov airship troop carrier and it would carry 50 troops inside it but in real life airships are so useless maybe against a county wich has no anti air weaponry :D

  • You don't know what your saying. If anything the 4 propellers would make it easier to pilot and the back of the Kirov is a jet. Plus Russians arnt know for have sleek efficent designs Americans are.

  • @FlingBeeble

    STFU, troll

  • nah, it doesn't look soviet, not at all

first, 5 fixed engines is a huuuge waste and redundancy, soviets would prefer to use 2 engines turning 90 degrees + _maybe_ 1 fixed so that the ship would be lighter and design more efficient

second, it looks unreasonably difficult to manufacture, especially tail

third, soviets don't paint scary stuff, they prefer ideological stuff

  • @idontknowwhatnicktou Thank you, professor.

  • незачто

  • @TheDutchGame

Ever heard of Helium? it doesnt burn :P one hole can be easily fixed.

  • There are no military Advantages with a airship.. if the enemy sees the airship he can just order something to shoot it down very easily.. they are not more energy efficient than planes.. but they can carry as much as a heavy bomber or less.

  • "I'm a giver"

  • if those tings were in MW2 O_o

  • @sam2599son get that game outa here

  • KIROV REPORTING!

  • Helium mix optimal

  • i would like the reporter saying "oh the huge manitee" when this goes down

  • "KIROV reporting"

    god i love that quote

  • my kirovs have always MIGs and helicopters around them

  • i remember online with the super fast modded maps it would be like *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* *kirov reporting* .... this wont end well.....

  • if kirov can move as fast as apollo fighter =)

  • oh look, is that your house?!

  • @brupielink

I know what you mean, i love having Kirov Invasions. : )

  • me and my friend were playing against each other.

th moment i finnished my small army, he builded 100 kirov's!

    i was like: not again.....

  • ''Kirov reporting''

  • WERE TAKING FLAK!!!!

  • kirov is a good bomber, bit its too slow and easier to beat em (lots of planes or air defenses)

  • you can kill a kirov with a high number of VX or mecha tengus. Maybe with the sea wing to

  • depends on the map and the angle of approach, if it goes over water, yes indeed

  • Bombardier to your stations

    WTF BOOM!!!

  • give me ten kirovs and i will give you the world..

  • @Zylen92

-Hi, I´m mr. Kirov and I came with my ten friends

    ->.< HOLY SH... (boom)

  • @Zylen92 If you use ten Kirovs there will be very little world to get... The rest will be shattered to smithereens ^^

  • @Zylen92 Ever since I unlocked the Kirovs in the campaign, I would always make 10, set them to aggressive and send them to their objectives.

  • @Zylen92 HELL NO the world is full of retardes

  • @Zylen92 give me 1,000 kirovs and I will give you the universe

  • @dancthegr Give me ten million kirovs, And I will give you twenty million slaves, The universe, Every planet in it, And an intergalactic military.

  • @Zylen92 a world of hurt?

  • @Zylen92 What do I need the world for if I have ten Kirovs?

  • kirov reporting!!

  • my record was 50 kirovs at the end of the game survived but i had like 80 i think it was sick my screen was covered lol all u see on the map is a big red blob LOL

  • kik the tyres an lite tha fires

    KIROV: WERE MY ESCORTS!!!???boom!!

  • kirovs need no support really coz the bomb explosion goes round a wide radius! and in big numbers spread over a wide radius splitting the enemy fire can ruin an opponents base easy! how?

because they cant pick them off easily 1 by 1.

kirovs are heavy amoured beasts and powerful but need speed to be effective.

  • which is why there are these little things called air units, which target bombers like kirovs.

  • Kirovs need ground support though. The can be easil taken out. However thats not to say a shrewd commander can't out wit his oppenent though......

  • I think that they are kinda hard to defeat from ground, because they can just drop bombs against enemies. But from the air, they are very easy to defeat. Just few apollos and they are in ground in seconds. You need MiGs to escort them, but the apollos are so strong that even your MiGs may fail at their task :D

But Kirovs rule, that is obvious.

  • i like kirovs. build loot kirovs and attack enemy base. Drop the bomb,,,,,,KABOOM!!! Finish!

  • i like kirovs to, but just to see them come down in flames, mouhahaha

  • and when a kirov is destroyed it explodes on the ground as well >:D

  • Kirovs can be used for kamikaze attacks . How? send it to a enemy base with the boost ability , crash over the buildings (important ones first)

    KA BOOOM

  • There are military advantages with an airship. The enemy won't suspect you using one. They are more energy efficent than planes, can carry more and have a longer range. They could alos be used as aircraft carriers in the air. They need air support though. And most commanders won't think much of them.

  • Not to mention that they are quiet and can run pretty cool, but that doesn't really matter much when they are so easy to spot. Even hard shelled zeppelin contexts would still be easy to blow out of the sky, largely due to the fact that they are so slow weapons can easily hit them.

  • they were always stealth weapons, ideally you would use them at night or with cloud cover.

  • it would have to be packed full of defences, anti-air, anti-ground and anti-missile

  • @dancthegr

but they are slow, BIG targets =)

  • @dancthegr watch a music vid of glukoza-schweine, there you can see a airship plane carrier

  • @dancthegr: Well I think the most feasible thing you can use them is for fuel. LOL! Observation. Pretty much it. Less expensive than drones and can carry more XD!

  • @1942tj during world war 1 the americans and british experimented and used a handful of em as flying airbases they had 2 cranes built in for aircraft retreival and launching tech of the day however put em out of military used after a few years

  • @dancthegr Yes, but one good shot bullet into the balloon and the whole thing crashes down burning on the ground.

  • @dancthegr True, man i would love to be a captain of THAT xD

i mean imagine a hundred REALLY big ones :O

  • @dancthegr Plus unless they're made of kevlar and diamond they can get punctured by missile explosions, flak, etc.

  • @uberfrenchtoast and dont forget... BOOM!

  • @uberfrenchtoast they can make carbon fibre that is stronger than steel now

  • @dancthegr There are disadvantages as well. They are quite slow, compared to traditional bombers. They are big and obvious, you won't miss a huge blimp heading towards you. The biggest disadvantage is, however, that it is extremely vulnerable to air to air attacks, it would need a lot of fighter escorts.

  • @lajakl of course pilotless drones are much more effective

More speed, more bombs, less deaths

  • @dancthegr also the current main problem w pilotless drones, is that they are simply IDIOTS I mean we don't have the tech to compare robotic pilot thinking power to our very own brain, the only thing robots are better than us is that they have faster reaction times, but they take longer to process wether the missle comeing at the plain is probally going left or right, while a well trained pilot can decide VERY fast, ofc robots being destroyed is much better than humans diening

  • @Ignuus66 you can fly them though from an airbase which gives them the ability to be "intellegent" ie they are remote-control

  • @dancthegr the problem for that is you need sattleites for that, and I doubt it would be worth sending one sattleite into space so you can bomb other continents, because currently the remote controll has MANY problems, it is also very expensive to fit a drone with remote controll, curently the most effective remote controlled bot is a small dog sized scout drone armed w a machine gun, designed for urban combat.

  • @dancthegr also if you throw a molotov cocktail at one they will explode

  • @Ignuus66 If you filled the sky with a cloud of airships, and one of them fell, does it really matter? You're still going to get your ass rained on by nukes.

  • @hagamablabla fight fire with fire

  • @Ignuus66 is that from the SC2 firebat?

  • @mstrblik It is an old proverb, but yea. sc2 firebats say that, but I knew about that before.

  • @Ignuus66 Nope. Helium doesn't burn.

  • @Helge129 @Helge129 it does when mixing with oxygen, and another much more effective way to destroy them: nuke em'

  • @Ignuus66 No, it doesn't. Helium is a noble gas, noble gases don't react with anything. And Burning is reacting with Oxygen, which Helium does not do.

  • @Helge129 how come zeppelins burn then? (I have no idea how, but they do somehow, even though helium is a noble gas. )

  • @Ignuus66 They don't, not anymore. They used to be filled with Hydrogen, that's for example the Hindenburg, it exploded because the Hydrogen ignited, Helium-filled Airships however don't burn, at least, the Helium itself doesn't, the exterior hull might, but I doubt even that.

  • @dancthegr And in adittion to that, you can easily hide one in the clouds, more so if you use some kind of silent propeller.

  • @dancthegr They are slow. Not so fast with destruction. easy to take down. cant attack air units. cost a LOT.

  • @pirmet but call it silent death. the AI might react fast but human players might not even notice midst a battle that kirovs are bombing your base to the stone age :P

  • @pirmet he means IRL. > > > >

  • @dancthegr they would suspect it with a soviet logo on the side of it

  • @dancthegr

Won't you need a hell lotta armor or else it'll get blown to smithereens from just one missle?

  • @dancthegr Meh, Harrier Jumpjets....Apaches.....F16 fighting falcons.....F-22 Raptors could easily make mince-meat out of them.

  • @VaciliNikoMavich unless a few Sukoi or MiG happened to be around Amerikanski.

  • @dancthegr mecha tengu kirov aircraft carrier :D they hop out the back and transform into jets while in mid air >:D

  • @dancthegr A good commander will either recognize them as what they are, if they serve a purpose. And air-carriers have nenver been built, so you don't know that. So the points about perception are essentially moot.

  • @DaUziel Look up uss macon:).

  • @dancthegr with some light armor to proctect the balloon kirovs can even resist some anti-air weapons. But they are best used in short range strikes. They are extremely light to carry in a ship (if you don't count the ammo they can carry), since they are balloons. And when they are taken down above a city, they can still be deadly, since they usually explode when they go down. And most important: kirov sounds like red domination and it looks awesome...

  • @martoboyo They don't go up in flames if they are filled with Helium tho.

  • @Helge129 uhm the bombs that are inside are filled with helium 2?

  • @darkevilapie They are probably filled with some very strong explosive, but they don't explode unless you shoot them, if it's a very unstable explosive, or not at all unless triggered.

  • @Helge129 if the lowest one is armed it will go off when it hits the ground, the explosion will be very big, so the other bombs wil go of 2.

    ps. BOMBARDIERS TO YOUR STATIONS!

  • @Helge129 they must be filled with HELIUM!

  • @ArmorTalons310 Uhm, I was talking about the bombs.

  • lol super noob

  • It's good that they dial down the toughness factor of the kirov's In RA2 you need aegis or 16 patriots to shoot a fleet of 3 kirovs.

  • Yeah, I always just make a swarm of Heavy GI's in Yuri's Revenge. GI's Get it done and are gewd against tanks :D

  • so slow, makes good target practice when unsupported

  • ...which is why I would rather use them as escorts to my Dreadnoughts and V4 Launchers. If the enemy tries to attack the Soviets' artillery with ground or naval forces, then they would have to get past these airborne behemoths first, and if they don't attack, then they might be blown away by the artillery. Air units (like the Apollo Fighters or Century Bombers) could be taken down by anti-air units such as Bullfrogs or Migs.

  • i loved the campaign of RA3

  • waaaay to short imao

  • KIROV REPORTING

  • why are they so unfriendly?

    seriously someone buff the kirov!

  • I personally dislike using slow bombers such as the Kirov. Slow speed and short range just don't mix well in my opinion, even if said thing had great defenses and overwhelming firepower (which is why I also dislike using the Mothership from C&C3). Now if they had long-range howitzers or cruise missiles instead of bombs, and if they moved at the speed of a battlecruiser, then maybe I'd use these more often. Zeppelin bombers were made obsolete after WWI for a reason.

  • If you want firepower in a fast, yet devestating pacage, use the soviet dreadnought.

  • I so agree. I'd rather be using Dreadnoughts or V4 Launchers instead of Kirovs. However, upon looking at some more footage from RA3 and Uprising later on, it seems as if the Kirov got a significant speed boost (compared to the Kirovs of RA2, though they're still about as slow as a bunch of Conscripts), and this isn't even taking into account the secondary ability. With the secondary ability active, I'd say that the Kirov is at least as fast as a Hammer Tank or Stingray (water form).

  • But the ability eats away the hull,so youre taking damage while the boost is on.

    I agree with ya.

    How about the Apocalypse Tank?

  • Much like the Kirov, the Apocalypse Tank is slow, yet powerful and durable, though it's range is more acceptable.

Now that I think of it, I think that I may have one use for the Kirovs: namely as escorts that protect the V4s or Dreadnoughts from harm as they bombard the enemy's base from afar. Any enemy ground or sea forces that are trying to get past the Kirovs and go for the artillery risk being blown to smithereens by a Kirov, and shooting one down is ill-advised if it's above your forces.

  • an army of even 10 kirovs would be pretty hard to knock down before they obliterated your base :P

  • i have used 1 or 2 before to take out an enemy's base on medium. They are price efficient for the amount they take out.

  • Actually they stop using zeppelins because of the Hindenburg. And yes the airplanes were faster but i think the zeppelins are cool.I would love to ride one but in a calm sunny day.

  • nice =P

  • The perfect pic for that mission :P

  • hmmmm on ra2 he was a superweapon but on ra3 he is not so strong as before

but the mammothtank are so heavy^^

  • The Kirov Airship: a heavy bombardment blimp. It can carry hundreds of bombs that can destroy any enemy ground unit. It boasts self-repairing capabilities, but can be destroyed by Apollo Fighters and Jet Tengus.
