Great, I'm going to spend the next year getting into these. I means my habit of hoarding is going to finally be useful. All those clothes and plastic bags can be made into stuff. I'll store them in my cardboard boxes I don't throw away. hehe =] I wish my nan would teach me to do this, my moms too ill for it and my dad, although a carpenter doesn't like teaching anything. X|

There is an easier way to cut the bags so that you do not have to go back and tie them together. other than that, I am going to pass on the art. thanks

i've been searching through plarn videos and there's another that shows how to cut the plastic so that the plarn is in one continuous line. she still folds up the bag, but leaves a 1" space at the top, pops that open, & cuts slits on a diagonal. search youtube for "plastic bag yarn/ making yarn from a tube". it saves a lot of time from knotting the pieces together : )

nope. you still make all the same size cut... that space you leave at the top is still cut to 1" or whatever you choose to cut all your other parts at, it's just slanted.. and that slant doesn't effect your end product. i tried to draw a text image, but it wont allow me to post the comment like that : (

The Sandals rock! How durable are they? Lack of shoes are a real problem in developing countries. We have been trying to think of a way to make shoes out of this plastic. What we can't do make a durable sole. It looks like this is an excellent way to bind the sole to the uppers. Could you still crochet the material if it was the 8 layers of fused plastic? Thanks! Thank you much! The plastic is really sturdy, even cut thin, for tighter guage items. Makes good wind-blocks in cold Michigan winters.
