hey guys i plan on using your build but how are you suppose to connect it at the middle? and is it possible to disattach it after you put it together? please respond! thanks
did you buy all the materials or did you get some for free? because on home depots website a sheet of lexan polycarbonate 32 inch by 72 inch and 0.093 inches thick for $127 dollars. if you did buy all the materials where did you get the lexan so cheap? thanks
@tcook2237 Nope, it lasted all winter with no problems at all. Just make sure it is completely glued and screwed down to where it doesn't flex anywhere
@NeverBeenFilms hey thanks for replying! I figured you did because no one sells them in the width i need, only 4'. But now i know i can just cut mine with my skill saw. Thanks
@hpslayer72 It took about 2 days to finish just because we had to let the paint dry before we attached the lexan. And it costed us about 180 in the end with everything!

hey, im building a box somewhat like this, but for the top, i wanna use laminate wood flooring, would this work ? and if so, would i still calk it down, or would like, gorilla glue work ?
@dec13shaun We go up to our mountain about 3 times a week so we know how everything feels. The purpose of this box was to get the basic mechanics of our tricks down so we could then perfect them at our mountain. Like 270's and switch ups.
does the lexan bite at all?? and also im sorry if youve already answered this question alredy but whate size were the sheets you got? all i could find on home depots website is small like 11x24"
how did u get the lexan o stay on the dox just screw it in. i went to home depot .com and search LEXAN and a whole bunch of kinds showed up with massivly dif price ranges what kind did u use thanks
hey dudes sick box, does the lexan polycarbanote hoold up in the winter...engineer friends of mine seem to think it will crack in the cold or somethnig...just wondering how it worked for you guys. thaanks and nicee looking box
I got my lexan on ebay, I bought a 72 X 18 and a 48 X 18 so those add up to a box that is 10ft X 1.5ft sand it cost $80 for the plastic $60 for the wood and $35 for the paint
@Colfitimal What we did was paint the whole box with outdoor paint to help with rotting and shit, but also when we are done riding on it we wrap around a tarp and weigh it down. A easy and cheap way to cover it from sleet or snow.
@sheckthedeck17 I do not know stores that sell HDPE board, check your local plastic factory or google HDPE board and order it. I know home depot and menards don't carry or even understand what it is.
dammm man wtf so since i cant get hdpe u think the lexan polycarbonated plastic would be best cause i dont want anyhting thats going to crak nd shit it neeed to last but it cant be like to expensive
@KNoXgaming The thing aboutt PVC sheets is that from what i've heard and researched is they will crack and slplit apart due to the cold ass weather. But i am not 100% sure on that
yo can some help me i cnt find hdpe at home depot cuz when ever i ask them for it they look at me like iam a retard can some help me with this problem or tell me the name of an alternative nd how much hdpe is nd the alternatiev
they dont sell it in any hardware stores that i looked in, i ordered mine last year online from lairdplastics (dot) c o m, check it out, or you could just get lexan polycarbonated plastic from home depot, its really not as good tho. after a while you have to start waxing it a lot and it causes you to lose a ton of speed
@hotwheels526 Well i haven't had a chance to use it yet, I am in Wisconsin and the snow hasn't fallen yet :( but from the reviews and research I did before purchasing it, I have seen that it the the second best thing to use, HDPE board is the best but also costs a fortune. It was on sale for 24.95 for a 4ft by 4ft sheet. I think not on sale its about 50 each. Any more questions feel free to ask!
what were the demensions and price the lexan came in? and from what i saw you used the metal corner beads and the caulk to keep it down? u didnt drill in the lexan?
@burtonsb1 The dimensions are in the description, 16' wide x 2 feet tall x 14 feet long. The price of the Lexan we bought (2 sheets at home depot) ran us about 28 each and they are 1/4" thick. The corner bead is meant to keep the lexan from chipping if you slide off early and to save your board or ski's, and we did countersink a couple screws in the lexan only where they crease's met just to ensure that they wouldn't flex up.
Thanks :) I like it a lot to and can't wait for snow to come!
@prosnowboarder19 The appox. weight is probably about 100lbs or a little less. It only takes two of us ot move it without a problem. Hope that helps :)
