Ive been tryin gto listen to music for 2 weeks on youtube!! it kept coming up with a sad jigsaw telling me to update shockwave AND THIS SONG IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS WORKED!!!!! IM SO HAPPY!!!!!! :D (sorry..but i missed youtube :L Yay!) aaand it was a song i love!!!
@ stonegrooved.....John, Paul and George met a lot of Jazz musicians at Brian Epstiens record shop. Jazz bands were still popular in Britain in the late 50's and early 60's. They showed them a lot of different jazz guitar chords which they incorporated into their music to sound different and stand out.

@Gyphia ...actually, the minor chord was George's idea. He had to work really had to sell John and Paul on using it. To bad George didn't get a credit with them for the song. It was an "Andrews Sisters" kind of thing.
I think this is from the awesome show Ready Steady Go. You'll notice there are black men dancing with white women. This was very controversial at the time but the more letters of complaint the producers received, the more determined they became to put them together. Inspiring!
By the way, this was the first song I ever learnt to play on guitar, though I thing the Fabs did it better!
In december he is doing a tour across europe, he also goes to my country, The Netherlands. for more info go to the official website of paul mc cartney
Its sad for the younger people because they missed the golden age of rock and roll, at least we have some records and videos of these guys at thier best : ) I really liked the early Beatles stuff with the handclaps, and the harmonica in there, not to mention great vocal harmony too.
This a song written by John, and I love the harmonica track underneath his vocal. John could sing low tenor-high baritone vocals SO well. John's songwriting output during this period was truly amazing.
I couldn't agree more. The 60s were indeed a special time and I often wish that I, or we, could recapture that spirit. I do not think that any generation since has had the chance to experience that feeling.
Hi Bella. I do, however, remind myself sometimes that the 60s did have its share of problems...war, civil rights riots, assassinations, etc.. Still, it was an exciting time to live. The music will live forever, though.
I could never experience the 60s. If I could ever go back in time, Beatlemania is where I would be. I adore the 60s. every exciting thing about it! sometimes the drama such as all the riots, add drama and thats why music was so important then. it spoke out to stop the fighting and it was a way to escape.
Studio directors in those days didn't really "get" pop music, did they. In this clip they don't realise it's John singing lead vocal, not Paul. And I've lost count of the number of times there's been a guitar solo going on, and the tv shows the bass guitar. Never mind, I'm grateful we have these clips at all.
Cantleysugar, Good points. Such misfliming is common in these films, and I think some of it is a deliberate device to try to disguise the fact that the audio is separate from the video,
they sound amazing live
