Actually Notch only has the gold(actually yellow) name on classic servers. On premium, however, he has the cape. Also, due to the fundamental way that minecraft loads player skins, anyone with the name "Notch" will automatically have both the cape and his skin.(The name is case Sensitive, thus it must be exact to load the skin) The user side copy of minecraft cannot differentiate between the real and a fake Notch if the name is written correctly.
