Quit being so one-dimentional. The atmosphere they took on White Pony was brilliantly executed.

The self-titled was a reverse in evolution, they went back to pure "DN DN DN RAAR" and it sucked.

atmosphere is all great in all but self titled tried to combine both in their "DN DN DN RAAR" tracks and it sucked. Adrenaline and Around The Fur were straight foward and were awesome, and they didn't need to change, they had a short fan surge with White Pony but have lost more fans since their change in style. Look at Korn they want atmosphere over heavyiness now and they have lost a lot of fans, are you saying thats a good thing? Anyways its all jus opinions.

the White Pony combined atmosphere with heaviness in that songs featured both influences, whereas the Self Titled was majority pure heavy songs (but much less interesting than early stuff) and 2 or 3 purely soft songs. Deftones did it perfectly on White Pony. You could even hear the Cure and dream pop influences on the early stuff. The guitars were blaring, but Chino was singing like a Cocteau Twin. You won't know who they are, but whatever. :)

I am a huge deftones fan, and I would never say anything they ever did sucked. Some of there songs may be less desireable, but their worst songs are better than 90% of the shit that is being played on rock radio. Smoke weed everyday, motherfucker.

That was a video of a band giving it their all for the fans. And they're fat now because they're 30+ year old stoners. If you're stoned all the time, you have the munchies all the time, so you get fat. And when you're 30+, your metabolism hits the floor, adn there you have it. So you don't really see teh Deftones giving it their at all their shows anymore. But performances from 1996-1999 proved that they're one of the best bands ever.
