  • Is it just me or I think she looks skinnier in this costume test :( so sad..

  • She referred to herself in the third person because "Marilyn" was a Hollywood persona that she was. She wasn't this person in real life. In real life she had all the baggage many of us carry

  • Britishjack: There IS a remake of this movie.... It's called: "Move Over Darling" starring Doris Day and James Garner. Ironically, the "original" movie was done in 1940 called "My Favorite Wife" starring Carey Grant and Irene Dunne. "Something's got to Give" is the same movie just retitled.

  • it'd be amazing if people in hollywood now made a remake of something's got to give, and get to finish it and get a marilyn impersonator. so people get to see the and watch the story of the movie :)

  • Poor baby. She was lost her entire life because she didn't have family, and didn't have roots. Can you imagine that, she must have felt entirely alone. Growing up in foster homes..I can't even begin to imagine what she went through. She was such a bright shining star.

  • @goldyviolet I can relate so much to this woman. May she rest in peace!!!!

  • this is just heartbreaking selfish movie industry the truth will be reveiled and the appropriate people will be held accountable

  • The greedy corporate pigs of the entertainment indusrty seems to have played a great role in her demise. She was the object of ther greed. Her health and well being was the last of their concerns. It sucks because it is still like that still today - money, greed and power are the evils that drive that industry.

  • They knew she wasnt feeling well but choose to treat her badly

  • I believe her final overdose was completely 'accidental'. She's grieving the loss of JFK, has to know that her film career has most likely 'peaked', she's 36yrs old, still beautiful but NOT what she was at 26(always hard for women to bear), 2 failed marriages, probably felt 'alone', she's bipolar to boot. She takes the sleeping pills on top of alcohol. She's laying there 'thinking' too much, dozes off, wakes up takes some more(easy to forget how many you've taken of those things)....etc.

  • @jlalewicz VERY true. If you read the #1 best selling biography about her called "Marilyn Monroe: The Biography by Donald Spoto" which is the #1 most factual bio about the star. In it he gives proof and actual facts (instead of rumors and conspiracy theories) that there was no reason JFK would murder Marilyn and there was also no reason for her to commit suicide either. People just like to twist things about her life and the person she was. Little do they know...

  • i cant believe someone could kill her...she was so beautiful. (no, i do not believe in the suicide story)

  • i dont trust the maid or the doctor why was she still washing when the police arrived and why did it take the doctor 4 hours to contact 911 after he knew she was dead but you make a pletara of calls to studio heads and exects....sound like a michael jackson situation

  • She was a beautiful woman (very sexy), men chased after her I'm sure. She got anything that she wanted. I'm sure she did things to get what she wanted from them. Life is kind of funny though, it kicks us in the face to let us know that reality is always there. I think that is what happened to her, reality set in and she couldn't handle it. Do I think she was killed for her relationship with JFK, I don't know. Do I think it happened cause she had problems, yes.

  • they kinda treated this woman like nothing more than a beautiful, sexy, dollar sign that brought them in the bucks, didn't really care about her health and how she was feeling, she should've been able to take some time off and get well or at least feel better and maybe the whole firing and rehiring thing never would have had to happen, marilyn was more than meets the eye, most saw her as a sexy icon, dumb blonde but she was quite intelligent and talented, just a wonderful woman

  • CONT...bno matter how "great" she looked all dolled up in friont of the cameras, 36 was OLD in those days, and she had two flops behind her and the industry hated her. I don't believe she PLANNED to commit suicde. It just happened that night--she was suddenly overcome and took the pills. Maybe she changed her mind. As for a cover up--of course. There's ALWAY a coverup when a famous person dies sudenly. But to accuse the Kennedys or her doc or housekeeper of murder is so wrong.

  • All of you out there who believe the incredible murder therories are very young, I assume. You think 1962 was like 2010? Do you think Marilyn was some cheap Paris Hilton type who gave tell-all interviews or twittered or would look to destroy the Kennedy's and/or her own career?! It was a different era--such a pres conference never would have happened. Marilyn, if you know anything about her life, was deeply depressed always and had attempted suicide before. CONT.

  • so painful and upsetting to watch this : ( whilst people around her went on to live long healthy lives, she didn't even make it to her 40's.

  • @jake831000 That was the plan! The Kennedys were threatened by the future of Marilyn's life. If Marilyn, age 36, continued to live a full life, she would have told the public about her affair with the Kennedys. They felt she was going to go public very soon since her career was ending (or about to re-start in the 60's) so they wanted to shut her up. They hired her own doctor/therapist and housekeeper to kill her!!!!!

  • @AmericanEvita bollocks! she overdosed herself as she had a lot of personal problems. mainly the way the likes of arthur miller, the kennedy's and probably several others used her and fulfilled their sexual fantasies before getting bored and ditching her. no-one ever seemed to respect her for the person she was. the theory regarding the kennedy's ''having her killed'' are way off the mark.

  • @jake831000 Well if it wasn't the Kennedys, it wasn't suicide either. She was a manic-depressive but she always bounced back. I have only 2 plausible theories: the Kennedy thing or her housekeeper called her doctor (Greenspon) and he tried to revive her but accidentally ended up killing her. Then he told Eunice to wash the sheets and make it look like a suicide. Her own doctor killed her!

  • @AmericanEvita Everyone says suicide, suicide, but the truth is that Marilyn's future looked a little brighter at the time of her death. She had been scheduled to do a photo shoot for Vogue magazine & she had been RE-HIRED to finish filming Something's Gotta Give. Joe DiMaggio was also a lot nicer to her at this time and they had become friends again!

  • @AmericanEvita yeah i've just looked at wikipedia and the chances of suicide dont seem very high and apparently her housekeeper, when questioned by the police changed her story several times! i guess the only people who really know what happened are all dead now, and have been dead some time!

  • this will be miley Cyrus in 5 years

  • @1111tcwe1111 Lindsay Lohan is already like this! No big surprise if she ends up overdosing on drugs and dying. It keeps happening. Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson, it keeps happening - addiction to pills !

  • @AmericanEvita good point

  • i swear i think i might be bipolar ;(

  • i never liked the term bi polar

  • I know, I feel she's been killed by Kennedy! She knew too much about something!

  • @MagoYensid i kno wat tht somthin is lol

  • @MagoYensid I totally agree with you.

  • its as if she didnt own her own body. celebrities as big as her never did own there own bodies.

  • MM was a major meal ticket for men who jostled amongst themselves for power and position over others. MM had a beautiful composure, a luscious physical body, and photographed exceptionally well.

The men around her did not have the physical qualities she exuded, so I would think that there was a great deal of animosity thrown her way by aggressive men who would dominate her.

Throughout her career MM had to contend with too much "Male Posturing" and gradually retreated into avoidance patterns.

  • @spiritech999 she was probably an even bigger meal ticket for her therapists (she had more than one).

  • girls*

  • scorpian...not at all...people are very selfish sometimes and have no ability to put themselves in someone elses shoes...it's ironic...millions of girl would have killed to be Marilyn, but her life was probably far more miserable from what this documentary suggests...

  • With all the problems this poor woman was having, why didn't anyone stop and saym "Hey, this woman is not well, she needs a break from all this?"

  • "A sex-symbol becomes a thing, I just hate being a thing. But if I'm going to be a symbol of something I'd rather have it sex than some other things we've got symbols of."

    - Marilyn Monroe

    RIP we miss you :(

  • It must of been sad that her mind wasn't respected. Her passion was reading, she was cultured and very very intelligent, but treated like a dumb bimbo. She was too kind and wouldn't stand up for herself....weinstien,greeson,bernstien, strasberg. If she was jewish hollywood wouldn't of treated her so badly ;)

  • I think Walter Bernstein overstates the ego excesses of MM. She referred to "Marylin" in the 3rd person because she was Norma Jean. MM was a Hollywood creation.

  • i believe that we will all meet her someday

  • If she would have went cold turkey on the liquor she would have experienced severe withdrawl, possible siezure's, even death anyway. Rehab isn't the same as it is now. I don't believe there was safe medical detox, as there is today.

  • Her weakness was hers the most powerful beauty...and finally it killed her.

    Such a woman!

  • Marilyn set the bar for beauty. All of her features from her button nose to the slightly puckered lips to the perfect hour glass figure are what all women strive to look like today with plastic surgery. She had it all before plastic surgery took over Hollywood. I think she knew that her image was EVERYTHING and that was why she referred to herself in third person. She understood that her image was what made movies. She couldn't be herself in public because it would destroy the dream.

  • gene tierney on "leave her to heaven"......zero surguries....greatest babe that ever existed on hollywood in my humble opinion....i have scorsese & darryl f. zanuck to back me up on this...

  • Gorgeous woman.

  • See, now "I" would've been able to take care of Marilyn&Norma at the same time......... Yeah RIght. I had a gorgeous g.f........it was a drama everyday. And w/her being so beautiful-I thought it was me. Something I was/wasnt doing. Turns out she was unmanageable over the most trivial things b/c she had to look and be perfect. Im lucky I survived those episodes....Her? she had 5 boyfriends w/in a year and then I lost track of her. Hope shes doin OK. ...I AM.

  • @translationwiz , my dear friend committed suicide bc of alcohol and drugs. She was often compared to a light green eyes version of Marilyn, soft voice, volumptous. Sometimes being that beautiful, a girl feels that's all she has. It panics her very being if she's NOT perfect. I do feel for you though. I'm a bit of a drama queen too, and it's not easy to live w/me.

  • Aww; sorry to hear about your friend. Thats so,so, sad. I pray she is in a wonderful place where she is no longer in such pain...thanks doll for the considerate comment. In your case? Its a HUGE advantage FOR you that you are AWARE of your dramatics. I've learned the hardest person to live with is me. Worst, I couldnt live alone. Today, Im in paradise w/me. OF course when my mind became stable; my body is beginning to fall apart...LOL. Nah, Im ok.

Enjoy life. Its short and precious.

    peace

  • Strasberg?? Yeah, MM was soooooo used by these celeb/actor studio wanna bees!! Truth be told...nobody circa the 1960's wanted to help Marilyn...just wanted a piece of her celeb status!!

Since her death? .........they all wanna claim they gave a shit!

  • did not she know that one can get addict to the sleeping pills?

  • no one really knew much them days

  • sad..she didnt have good people to protect her...

  • I'm bipolar, like Marylin and I don't have good people too.I protect me...I'm living on my own and got to be so strong.I stood up,so hard...medicines and Osho/+The Secret/ help me.If you are biploar too,you never give up!!!Marilyn was wonderful actress and very beautiful woman. She was only 36...so sad.Sweet dreams Marylin!

  • @misslennon2315 , I am glad you're strong for yourself. I honor you for that.

  • do they talk about the kennedy affairs

  • It was as if marilyn was her alter ego

  • @annarntr She has said before "Norma Jeane is a girl who didn't belong to anyone, the orphan who no one loved and Marilyn Monroe is the star that belonged to the world."

  • @annarntr i think it was, she was a true gemini!

  • @annarntr Marilyn Monroe didn't even really exist as a person. She was a character Norma Jeane was forced to play. She herself said that. Her friends never called her Marilyn off set, only Norma Jeane.

  • whats the song that plays at 6:19?

  • sto piangendo come una matta ç_ç gia dal primo..grazie per averli messi ^_^
