Kil'jaeden didn't die, he was defeated in the sunwell and when he left his necklace was lootable... note there was no body.

Actually, drinking the Mannoroth's blood isn't what makes their skin green, it's exposure to Fel Magic. The Mag'har were in isolation because of a sickness called Red Pox, that's why they weren't exposed when the Orcs started using Fel Magic under Gul'dan.

There is a quest chain that leads up to you going to the Wrath Gate, Bolvar following and leading an attack allied with the horde a cut-scene insues where Saurfang of the horde and Bolvar of the alliance both die.
