Whisper of the Heart is definately one of my favorites too. The subbed version, not the dub. I hated who they got for Seiji in the dub.

If you havent seen spirited away i recommed you should its a great fantasy movie. Oh and i would also recommed Howl's moving castle great movie and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Btw nice video :D

Nice list! I have to agree that it would be hard to include any movie made from Miyazaki because all of them are amazing! If you could do an updated version, which movies would you include in the video, and have you seen Summer Wars? That movie was also directed by Hosada.

i just saw Grave of the Fireflies, simply moved me to tears....but i still find Korean stuff somehow more intriguing in their aesthetics and storytelling. Just saying =D

BTW its a real nice list there, was really ignorant about all this beautiful movies that i'd have otherwise passed. Thnx!

Grave of the fireflies is a heartbreaking sad beautifull story with, and the Japanese voice of the little kid is amazing.

Perfect Blue was an amazing movie and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. I have a link to where you can watch it subbed now so if anybody cares to see it (Which you should because it's worth it!) Thanks for the suggestions of japanese animated movies ^^ I've found new ones that i have never seen.

I have watched The Girl who Leapt through Time, it was a great movie and I enjoyed it (has watching it subbed). I actually own it on DVD as well.

The other movies look interesting as well (cept Catnapped), I plan to watch those now, first Mellennium, then Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, and then that movie you mentioned at the end and lastly perfect blue. Thanks! I'll enjoy them!

Thanks for this vid! I live in Japan now, which is the only reason I came across Whisper of the Heart. It's so under-rated in the rest of the world. It's my fave Ghibli, and possibly my fave anime. Btw, while Miyazaki didn't direct it, he did write the screenplay.

Great recommendations! I'll be sure to check these out if I can find them. I'm a huge fan of anime, and I'd have to say that my favorite anime, and my favorite animated movie period, is Miyazaki's Spirited Away. It may seem a bit cliche, but there are so many things I love about the movie.

I have nearly all the American Ghibli films (Whisper was my favorite), Catnapped, Millennium Actress and Metropolis. I forgot she was a girl in the movie. It was more variable in the book.

I also want to see Furusato. I hope that gets released here, too.

I did hear it as Papadoru, but I figured that's how they pronouced the L's [I also read somewhere the name was Papadoll :o], so I figured it would Be Papadoll in english, since we don't use "eru/oru" for L.

Kinda like How the Name Alice is Pronounced "Arisu" so people think the name would be Arisu? But I suppose Either way is correct, haha./

It's not really stealing if you don't download/pirate/(etc...) it- If you just watch it to say that you saw it. That's what I do. I watch an anime, and if I really love it, I'll go out and buy it. Although I am pretty stingy with my money, > n < So sometimes I'll just watch it and be done with it. If I ever want to buy it, I can.

But yes, it gets annoying when people download Anime and don't pay for it. [But sometimes a company that distributes it gives permission for a site to post the Anime]./

My order of Whisper of the Heart came in a few days ago. I watched it yesterday, and loved it! I definitely want to see The Cat Returns now, I'm very curious about it.

I was also sad to hear that the movie's director Kondo, had died several years back. It really is a shame. The guy could have easily been the next Miyazaki.
