I used to work in the Worm's Head (the place where you paid 6 quid for tea and cake by any chance?!? haha - it's a rip off down there!) and the locals used to tell me stories. They said that anything that washes up on the beach is officially property of 'the Crown' and so all the locals gathered the wood and made houses out of it as quickly as possible to disguise/hide the cargo before people came to collect it! Also, the rectory (the white house on the hill) is allegedly haunted!
the shipwreck is the 'helvetia' (pronounced Hel-veesh-ah) - apparently it was loaded with timber and most of the houses in the village of rhossili are made from the wood that it spilled onto the sands when it crashed!
@dawonksta Cheers, dawonksta - I realised my mistake after making the film. My friend makes the comment I know nothing about it!!!! It's true. I'm sure it's decayed A LOT since I was young though. I'm sure there was a lot more of it. I know wood decays but it seems like the ships disappearing pretty quickly...
Surely if one is to travel so far to go to worms head one should really check the tide times Surely !

@scaleydragon1 Well, if you live as far away from Worm's Head as Llansawel maybe!

Great videos - I like the way you've spoken to random people who tell you how they experience Gower.
so funny when Charles(?) says "Food!" at 2.51... then cut to him gazing about distantly in the café!
