  • The end bit is from the organ and where it has been set for trumpet. It does not form part of the original tune and is an extra that the organist has added.

  • does anyone know where i can get the end bit which is played on the tuba??

  • @kellogs211 I believe this is from a setting copyrighted by Hope Publishing. It is in The Hymnal 1982, #481. (I think it's the same - don't have a hymnal in front of me.)

  • Lord,

Give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

    Amen.

  • check on this video on my page of this kid with turrets singing let the bodies hit the floor!!! sooooooo fuuuuunnnnnnyyyyyy!!!!!

  • And SOMEHOW , millions of years later, after this explosion organisms just suddenly walk out of the water spontaneously and evolves. That is a pathetic excuse for avoiding the fact that THERE is indeed a GOD who CREATED AND RUNS the UNIVERSE. People are just mad that there is a God who is just awesome like that, and they think that not believing in Him will make Him not exist to them! That really is just sad and dismaying. The truth is the Truth, whether people like it or NOT!!

  • just because you dont like the hymn doesnt mean no one else can its a good hymn

  • whoever thinks that this song is good hasnt got a life

  • I love this song ^_^

  • This version I believe is on the CD The Best Loved Hymns of York Minister Cathedral (or similar). I can tell by the organ diddly at the very end. (available on iTunes if you search around enough)

  • Tune is Gopsal (G.F. Handel 1685-1759)

    Words: Charles Wesley (1707-1788).

  • If the whole of a thing is comprised of all its parts, as some of the bible is nonsense and some of it is contradictory, then the bible as a whole is ALL contradictory nonsense.

A book intended to apply to people at large should be readily understandable by them without explanation or apologetics. It ought to be understandable to the simplest of minds having the capacity to read, or even be read to.

  • loved the trumpet/tuba at the end. it made a great ending to a great hymn.

  • This is such a great hymn, very uplifting

  • REJOICING today, christmas '08.

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (November 23) was Christ the King Sunday. I played this as our opening hymn. However, it was to the tune, LAUS REGIS, composed by William E. Fischer. It is #430 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship in the Festivals, Commemorations section. Just thought I'd share.

  • @imaginethereisnogod "The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God" -King David Psalms Psalms: 1

"Well," Franklin said, "You have told me over and over that the solar system had no creator; that it just 'happened.' This machine is a most crude and primitive contrivance, attempting to duplicate on a small scale some of the bodies of that system and their movements. Do you think I'm a fool to say that the mighty solar system had no maker?"

  • @Jetli390 I don't know what you "rationalists" believe, but I hardly find it rational that a see creature just somehow walked out of the water and turned into some type of primate which later evolved into a man. That's just ridiculous and pathetic. And about this crud about dark matter, Not even in that could I believe that this very dark matter just existed for who knows what and the SUDDENLY there is this HUGE explosion which somehow later, millions of years later, creates PLANETS!

  • @imaginethereisnogod Ey, mate, maybe you really believe there is no God. Maybe you've just got a chip on your shoulder placed by an idiot who told you something about Christians you didn't like. I dunno what your problem is, but whatever it is, I really hope you've thought about what you've said, looked over all of the facts, the implications of the universe being just a big accident and there being no God. If you have, good for you. But if you haven't, I might seriously suggest you do.

  • Rejoice! :)

  • ¬_¬ different tune ¬_¬

  • God is awesome and you should give thanks for what he has done for your sins. God is amazing. Be thankful that you know him. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
