My son is 11. He enjoys most of the Floyd tunes. I was not introduced to Floyd until I was 17. That was thirty years ago. He really enjoys the masterful playing of DG. We agree there is nothing out there today to listen to that compares to this. Division Bell, Pulse, and M lapse is where his favorites are. Mine too. Rap is crap. And DG does not need to sing with Willie Nelson to have a hit. I never saw them live. It's sad he won't either. But we do have Pulse. This music will never ever get ol
A unnecessarily long song that gets our hopes up with this majestic guitar intro, but as it slowly progresses, everything seems to be falling apart. The result is rather predictable. And the lyrics..a bit too easy. For a Pink Floyd composition, it leaves much to be desired...
@ASTROBOYUFO I listened to this dated AMLOR album hundreds of times, in case I was wrong in my judgement, but there was nothing likeable in it. Sorrow starts with a promising solo, but it evolves in a very boring way...I guess it is a matter of taste. I happen to be more attracted to the epic and enthralling sound of the 70's...Sorrow, New Machine, Terminal Frost (more like a Yanni piece) Dogs Of War, Yet Another Movie were truly a Momentary Lapse Of Reason!
There has never been nor will there ever be ANYONE who plays like David Gilmour. This is my absolute favorite intro to any of their songs...I can't say which song is my favorite because I like them all so very much...I go to sleep to Division Bell...I jam in my car to The Wall and The Final Cut and well all of the albums...Thank you Pink Floyd for all the music past present and hopefully future...music...You cut the song off...awe....

If you are a truth seeker, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says. Everyone needs to see this. The Present will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people. You will see what I mean when you read the first page.
i was at this gig at earls court it was the most amazing experience i have ever had, the light show was unbelievable throughout the show. i will die a happy man.
It's impossible for me to choose my favourite Pink Floyd song or album because I just love every single one! I think I get a favourite, then I listen to another one and it's just as good! Love Pink Floyd so so so so so so so much! <3
@chryi812 Hope ya didn't spill your Jack Daniels! I did a survey recently from my favourite chair in the pub, and my pal and I came to the scientific conclusion that all Pink Floyd fans are jolly nice people. With impeccable taste. Which includes my closest friends. So chew on that,Stephen Hawking!
Listened to this through a set of Sennheiser HD800's. That low frequency hum is awesome through a high end set of phones. Almost worth buying them for this song alone.
i must say that i'm sixteen years old, i live in brazil, where the only things that can make me proud are the women. But, over here, what me and my lads do? We smoke some good weed, get in my car and listen to some real nice Pink Floyd for like 3 hours non stoping. When we stop, the only thing that comes to our minds is "shit, this world sucks, i must get back to the Pink Floyd Land". And then we do it all over again. I recommend. Just try it.
I grew up on the Floyd, listening to the Piper of Dawn from 1967, the melodies by Waters are wonderful and Gilmour's guitar playing is outstanding and exquisite.
But there's a terrible melancholy running through their music- I remember when Gilmour said his goal was to move people by the music, they do, but ultimately the joy and optimism of The Grateful Dead's music lifts the soul much more. The Floyd are engraved on my soul, but The Dead take me higher.
yeah... this was the TOUR of all times... Nothing can top that. In many ways celestial experience... Saw it on my own eyes in 94 in Prague. Part of me was left there forever... This DVD is very good placebo and the best music DVD ever...
If you watch this video in a darkened room on a widescreen TV hooked up to a decent stereo at an extremely stupid volume whilst drinking a very large Jack Daniels, the first 2minutes 41 seconds is how the Universe must have sounded when God made it. Awesome stratocaster overdrive, no sign of Justin Bieber, and after God made Adam and Eve he produced Nick Mason just in time. And on the third day he rested. After that, it all went pear shaped, but hey- we've still got Pink Floyd.
No other song defined Pink Floyd better than this one. Perhaps the single greatest rock song of all time, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Tool included. Go ahead an challeng me on this.
One of nick's best performances with pink floyd, one of the best songs, one of the best drums guitar bass and keyboards solos, one of the best concert of the world, one of the best drumers of the world, one the best bands of all time, ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL
@AfternoonProductions Actually I removed my comment as I thought you would never see it as this was 4 months old. Also I am a 52 year old Guitarist with over 40 years playing both pro and hobby. As for Sustainer , yes to a point. Gilmour dosn't use Jackson and the sustainer will hold the note but You need an Octave pedal to get the High pitch as I said in my original post, As for the Distortion He uses a Big Muff ( not the Russian but American ). There Ya Go..Kid.
I count myself so lucky to have been at 2 of these Earls Court gigs plus the aborted one when the seating collapsed at the start of the show. The intro to Sorrow was fabulous and I remember how the huge building literally shook with the bass vibrations during the finale to this song, which unfortunately is missing from this clip. BTW does anyone know the significance of the "thing" that descends from the roof and opens out during Comfortable Numb? RIP Richard Wright...
Most bands try to change their style and end up just conforming to the cliches of the time, I think that pink floyd did this but still managed to show the same amount of originality as they always had. This song is the perfect example of that.
I have always felt lucky growing up when Pink Floyd were/are in their prime! Classics, masters of their domain... Awesome, what did I leave out... guitar player extraordinaire
i do have the dvd, it is awesome too. I wish i could have gone t osee them when they did the tour. There was a date in 1994 when i was 12 years old and they were up in Kansas City
Pink Floyds music will never die. As long as human beings have emotions we will listen to Pink Floyd. RIP Richard Wright, your body may be gone but you spirit lives on through your music.
my 10 year old son saw a homeless guy on the street downtown with a Pink Floyd shirt on. He went up to the man and asked him what his favorite Floyd song is. The man didn't reply with what his favorite Floyd song was but instead inquired of my son; "Aint you a little too young for Floyd?" My son later asked me what he meant by "too young". Thats the most awesome part of great music, there is no age limit. His fav band is Pink Floyd because they move him, not because anyone told him who to like
@vainimages he asked this question because usually pink floyd destroy people, when they listen to the lyrics, listen to the music, and think. it moves people, but most people are locked in cages by life.
A sweet smell of a great sorrow liesover the land......
Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky....
A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers...
But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking......
The lyrics! people forget about the lyrics (because the music is more than powerful enough) and because Waters usually wrote the words.... but these lyrics are amazing, touching and deep...... and so fit the music.... and of course it is PINK FLOYD ... no-one compares.......

Damn David Gilmour can make a guitar howl and scream.Music has been put aside today in exchange for commercial gain.Nothing left of our legends of old and true virtuoso but memories, replaced by these excuses for "artists" today.Damn this new breed to the depths of hell!!
@cgsrf574gh man dont blame them! this masterpiece over here has 405,918 views... in my point of view its normal that from all these people, 18 have parkinson disease :PP
i have the dvd since it was out. i´m a musician myself, but this is simply breathtaking... it´s the concert of the century, to me it has more meaning than woodstock and all that stuff together... as the op says - it´s out of this world... go get the dvd, seriously, you won´t see somthing like this in your life again isuppose...
Is it me, or does a self confining feeling fall upon you when you listen to floyd play? Theres just sooooo much fucking meaning in everything. This is truly music.
I saw them in this tour, 3 times. I can't believe it was more than 15 years ago. Wow, I still get the goosebumps listening to David's solo on this song.
When I saw this live, those low deep tones were so intense I thought it was going to shake the building apart. To feel all that power bouncing off of me was just beyond anything I can describe.
Fucking amazing, i wonder how he feels about losing his extremely long hair lol, he must think fuck where'd that go, also i wonder if he admires himself like everyone else admires him, i know i would if i was this awesome at life.
My son is 11. He enjoys most of the Floyd tunes. I was not introduced to Floyd until I was 17. That was thirty years ago. He really enjoys the masterful playing of DG. Damn David Gilmour can make a guitar howl and scream.Music has been put aside today in exchange for commercial gain.Nothing left of our legends of old and true virtuoso but memories, replaced by these excuses for "artists" today.Damn this new breed to the depths of hell!!

i have the dvd since it was out. i´m a musician myself, but this is simply breathtaking... it´s the concert of the century, to me it has more meaning than woodstock and all that stuff together... as the op says - it´s out of this world... go get the dvd, seriously, you won´t see somthing like this in your life again isuppose...
