  • My son is 11. He enjoys most of the Floyd tunes. I was not introduced to Floyd until I was 17. That was thirty years ago. He really enjoys the masterful playing of DG. We agree there is nothing out there today to listen to that compares to this. Division Bell, Pulse, and M lapse is where his favorites are. Mine too. Rap is crap. And DG does not need to sing with Willie Nelson to have a hit. I never saw them live. It's sad he won't either. But we do have Pulse. This music will never ever get ol

  • some punkass bitches think this aint music, well; guess what?? this is better than music...floyd is god, it creates its own universe...

  • BLISS !!!!! N

  • Great vid, great song, well done.

  • This is how it must have felt when you first heard Pink Floyd...

  • forget everything,this is it!!!

  • Best performance, Best stage lighting, One of best solos, Epic song, Awesome Band. Pink Floyd.

  • There are 3 types of addiction.

    1.Pink Floyd addiction

    2.Pink Floyd Album addiction

    3Pink Floyd Song addiction...

    this is the 3rd kind

  • A unnecessarily long song that gets our hopes up with this majestic guitar intro, but as it slowly progresses, everything seems to be falling apart. The result is rather predictable. And the lyrics..a bit too easy. For a Pink Floyd composition, it leaves much to be desired...

    Pity!

  • @taubheiten Did you understand the music... the lyrics, or was it all just in vain!

I think your comment give the answer!

    Pity!

  • @ASTROBOYUFO I listened to this dated AMLOR album hundreds of times, in case I was wrong in my judgement, but there was nothing likeable in it. Sorrow starts with a promising solo, but it evolves in a very boring way...I guess it is a matter of taste. I happen to be more attracted to the epic and enthralling sound of the 70's...Sorrow, New Machine, Terminal Frost (more like a Yanni piece) Dogs Of War, Yet Another Movie were truly a Momentary Lapse Of Reason!

  • There has never been nor will there ever be ANYONE who plays like David Gilmour. This is my absolute favorite intro to any of their songs...I can't say which song is my favorite because I like them all so very much...I go to sleep to Division Bell...I jam in my car to The Wall and The Final Cut and well all of the albums...Thank you Pink Floyd for all the music past present and hopefully future...music...You cut the song off...awe....

  • .....enormous piece of music ....i simply love it ....id play this song forever !!!! ....

  • RESPECT!!!

  • Possibly the best musical representation of an emotion thru music that I've ever heard.

  • @chryi812 Hope ya didn't spill your Jack Daniels! I did a survey recently from my favourite chair in the pub, and my pal and I came to the scientific conclusion that all Pink Floyd fans are jolly nice people. With impeccable taste. Which includes my closest friends. So chew on that,Stephen Hawking!

  • glorious!

  • 1337 likes... what can I say, this is perfect.

  • pink floyd forever!!!...period!

  • no man can beat that

  • damned headphone... is not loud enough... actually, nothing is loud enough for listen to this masterpiece

  • @milingoladaniva Justin Bieber fans most likely

  • wow.....

  • how i wish i was there.perfect live

  • best guitar solo ever.

  • Listened to this through a set of Sennheiser HD800's. That low frequency hum is awesome through a high end set of phones. Almost worth buying them for this song alone.

  • his plays his strat like a chainsaw

  • good for the audience :(((( im really sad i wasn't there

  • yeah, i'm high right now. Fuck it.

  • i must say that i'm sixteen years old, i live in brazil, where the only things that can make me proud are the women. But, over here, what me and my lads do? We smoke some good weed, get in my car and listen to some real nice Pink Floyd for like 3 hours non stoping. When we stop, the only thing that comes to our minds is "shit, this world sucks, i must get back to the Pink Floyd Land". And then we do it all over again. I recommend. Just try it.

  • @Fakerzinhu Keep the good attitude. The world does suck, but there are a few good things. Like Brazilian women and Pink Floyd.

  • 18 ALIENS LIVE IN REAL SORROW

  • I dedicate this song to Rebecca Forbes - you have brought me much sorrow with your sarcasm - but I still love you.

  • I grew up on the Floyd, listening to the Piper of Dawn from 1967, the melodies by Waters are wonderful and Gilmour's guitar playing is outstanding and exquisite.

But there's a terrible melancholy running through their music- I remember when Gilmour said his goal was to move people by the music, they do, but ultimately the joy and optimism of The Grateful Dead's music lifts the soul much more. The Floyd are engraved on my soul, but The Dead take me higher.

  • yeah... this was the TOUR of all times... Nothing can top that. In many ways celestial experience... Saw it on my own eyes in 94 in Prague. Part of me was left there forever... This DVD is very good placebo and the best music DVD ever...

  • One of the best Pink Floyd songs

  • david......

  • i dislike the 18 dislikes. How can you be so incompetent to mark this with a thumb down?! This is music how it is ment to be made!

  • love that smile during the first guitar break @ 5:27 good stuff :)

  • this is my favorite version of the song

  • Καλύτερο βρετανικό συγκρότημα ποτέ

  • If you watch this video in a darkened room on a widescreen TV hooked up to a decent stereo at an extremely stupid volume whilst drinking a very large Jack Daniels, the first 2minutes 41 seconds is how the Universe must have sounded when God made it. Awesome stratocaster overdrive, no sign of Justin Bieber, and after God made Adam and Eve he produced Nick Mason just in time. And on the third day he rested. After that, it all went pear shaped, but hey- we've still got Pink Floyd.

  • @misterviv1959 WICKED!

  • @misterviv1959 Did that on my 50 inch" had the windows just rattling!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @misterviv1959 thats correct only that the universe was not made by some folk up in the clouds but quantum fluctuations etc

  • @misterviv1959

Man you've just about summed it all up... life, the universe and everything!

  • the bass line is like a smack in the face, gilmours solos like a sweet kiss to the ears and the lyrics like a pure seretonin injection to the brain

  • lyrics is where it is at dude that is what gives it meaning

  • uuuufff... una excelente rolaa !!!

  • this is too beautiful

  • The world should be a better place if everyone could've been there

  • when this concert i get a trip with out an LSD

  • bass at 08:16 INTENSE :)

  • No other song defined Pink Floyd better than this one. Perhaps the single greatest rock song of all time, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Tool included. Go ahead an challeng me on this.

  • this is amazing, I hope to one day write something that affects people as much as this single song has affected my life.

  • ¡Google idiotas!

  • Brings back great memories of Earls court 1994...

  • ok, i hate to ask for thumbs up, but does anyone else get chills/shivers from this song?

  • One of nick's best performances with pink floyd, one of the best songs, one of the best drums guitar bass and keyboards solos, one of the best concert of the world, one of the best drumers of the world, one the best bands of all time, ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL

  • I just died a little bit.. no kidding !

  • I cant believe this only has 352,000 views !!

  • Guy just looks at David when he's soloing and he's like 'wow' great performance! And yeah, Guy is great on bass

  • Guy just looks at David when he's soloing and he's like 'wow' great performance!

  • seriously, this type of comments like "15 fuckers" "40 idiots who dont.." are kinda boring, people should stop now that we can.

  • I really feel mercy and sorry for these 17 aliens who disliked the song/video/pink floyd.

God i beg you plz give them another chance in life...

  • Creator

    ~~ Loves You ~~

  • 9:36...Mister Wright...: wtf?, when he is finished?

    LOL....

  • how does he get that high pitched whine at 1:26 from hitting the Whammy bar?

i've been trying with everything and i dont know how! can some1 help me?

  • @AfternoonProductions mother. fucking. feedback.

  • @NOMOMOMOMOMOM mother. fucking. thank you

  • @AfternoonProductions i think its just feedback

  • @AfternoonProductions look up jackson sustainer or Jackson pc2 to mimic this..

  • @sincityskywalker hey thx man :)

  • Comment removed

  • @dhelgason1 yeah, u dont know what ur talking about kid. its just feedback.

  • @AfternoonProductions Actually I removed my comment as I thought you would never see it as this was 4 months old. Also I am a 52 year old Guitarist with over 40 years playing both pro and hobby. As for Sustainer , yes to a point. Gilmour dosn't use Jackson and the sustainer will hold the note but You need an Octave pedal to get the High pitch as I said in my original post, As for the Distortion He uses a Big Muff ( not the Russian but American ). There Ya Go..Kid.

  • @dhelgason1 actually, i just whammy and use lots of distortion. or do some pinch harmonics. sounds good either way :/

  • i adore this version of this song :-) thank u pink floyd

  • I count myself so lucky to have been at 2 of these Earls Court gigs plus the aborted one when the seating collapsed at the start of the show. The intro to Sorrow was fabulous and I remember how the huge building literally shook with the bass vibrations during the finale to this song, which unfortunately is missing from this clip. BTW does anyone know the significance of the "thing" that descends from the roof and opens out during Comfortable Numb? RIP Richard Wright...

  • at 5:12 its easy to play, but its pure orgasm....

  • Most bands try to change their style and end up just conforming to the cliches of the time, I think that pink floyd did this but still managed to show the same amount of originality as they always had. This song is the perfect example of that.

  • Wow....

I wish that guitar solo never ended.

When I'm bored in the train to college, I sometimes nod with my head and imagine David Gilmour is soloing in my head. LOL

  • @megatroll

    LOL me too xD

  • By far my favorite Pink Floyd song, and that's saying alot

  • ecstasy of living,

  • I have always felt lucky growing up when Pink Floyd were/are in their prime! Classics, masters of their domain... Awesome, what did I leave out... guitar player extraordinaire

  • is that just feedback or is he doing some special trick to get that sound at 1:36?

  • THAT! is how to play a strat!

  • I love that bass line damn It!

  • and i lived down here in Belle Plaine south of wichita

  • i do have the dvd, it is awesome too. I wish i could have gone t osee them when they did the tour. There was a date in 1994 when i was 12 years old and they were up in Kansas City

  • Pink Floyd.. Best Band Ever... ... Mr David Gilmour - King Of Strats ...

  • Pink Floyds music will never die. As long as human beings have emotions we will listen to Pink Floyd. RIP Richard Wright, your body may be gone but you spirit lives on through your music.

  • my 10 year old son saw a homeless guy on the street downtown with a Pink Floyd shirt on. He went up to the man and asked him what his favorite Floyd song is. The man didn't reply with what his favorite Floyd song was but instead inquired of my son; "Aint you a little too young for Floyd?" My son later asked me what he meant by "too young". Thats the most awesome part of great music, there is no age limit. His fav band is Pink Floyd because they move him, not because anyone told him who to like

  • @vainimages he asked this question because usually pink floyd destroy people, when they listen to the lyrics, listen to the music, and think. it moves people, but most people are locked in cages by life.

  • On the contradictive note 'stoneybaksum', Gilmour is a Athiest lol.

  • hello

  • fuck everyone this songs the shit makes you think about life an relize things

  • Who cares about all those popstars? THIS is the true legend and will be forever...

  • this song is simply amazing! que brillante!!

  • What on earth is there to dislike about this song?

  • what a performance!!

there is nothing more to say........!

  • Fucking Amazing Baby

  • Sick playing by Guy Pratt!

  • A sweet smell of a great sorrow liesover the land......

Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden sky....

A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers...

But awakes to a morning with no reason for waking......

The lyrics! people forget about the lyrics (because the music is more than powerful enough) and because Waters usually wrote the words.... but these lyrics are amazing, touching and deep...... and so fit the music.... and of course it is PINK FLOYD ... no-one compares.......

  • @ARDUNNO Amen to that. The lyrics are so poetic, just mesmerizing. This song kills me!

  • 15 MISS Cliks

    Pink floyd is unsurpassed.

  • on the 6th march of the year 1946 god came out of heaven & brouth his guitar.

  • Gilmour, eres uno de los pocos que quedan...Viva Gilmour

  • Is it me, or does a self confining feeling fall upon you when you listen to floyd play? Theres just sooooo much fucking meaning in everything. This is truly music.

  • I saw them in this tour, 3 times. I can't believe it was more than 15 years ago. Wow, I still get the goosebumps listening to David's solo on this song.

  • gilmour is something like chuck norris with a guitar.... flawless

  • @mamafaka nah, hes better than chuck norris with a guitar.

  • @mamafaka When it comes to playing a strat, Chuck Norris is a punk compared to THE MASTER-David, excuse me, MR. David Gilmour!

  • Fucking amazing, i wonder how he feels about losing his extremely long hair lol, he must think fuck where'd that go, also i wonder if he admires himself like everyone else admires him, i know i would if i was this awesome at life.
