@Catalina031 I am 43 and due to too much sun in my childhood and teenage years I am now vigilant with my skincare routine and will occasionally add and subtract products as my skin ages and changes. Currently I use a C E Ferulic in the AM and a retinol in the PM. I am trading the retinol for retin A in a couple of weeks because after 10 years of the retinol I feel it is not addressing the mild laxity I see in my face and neck. I am all about prevention and doing a little bit consistently.

I'm using atralin as well and was wondering if it's considered safe to use it in conjunction with these light therapy system? Some people have said no, and others yes.

@MissaMUA Have found no contraindications thus far to using the Atralin with this particular light system so I am using both. LED is a very low level light therapy to gradually stimulate collagen growth. Since there is no ablation of the skin, Atralin would be safe. The "photo sensitivity" described with tretinoin is only seen initially when the skin turnover is being adjusted & there may be a short term thinning of the startum corneum. Over time, tretinoin actually thickens the skin.

I used to be very skeptical of gadgets, but I've had such good results with things they used on me in physical therapy after a surgery I had, and also with my sonic toothbrush. So now I know they can make a difference. All the new technologies are really changing things these days!

@DepartmentOfColor I think a lot of us tend to forget those nasty little UV rays are with us all year long! Good for you! There are a great deal of new high tech anti aging devices on the market. Sadly some of them seem to be creating more problems than they solve. We do all need to be quite careful in our quest to anti-age that we don't end up looking older than when we started. @junbug1029 Considering people are going into a derms office at all hours of the day I am concluding it does not matter when you use it, just that you use it :) Found nothing in the literature to the contrary. I knew you would have sunscreen on! Although we have sun most days in winter I always wear sunscreen so I take vit D too as my levels are quite low. Jan,I own a similar unit. Can't remember the name right now but it looks similar. I'm pretty sure it was talked about on the "Doctors" a few months ago and they felt the portable units were as effective as going in for treatments. I've been using it for about 3 months. I keep it by my "tv watching chair" and use it while watching tv. I've missed you...glad you are back...you look wonderful!...patti

@Angelmagik2 I have been doing my version of Obagi for a long time now and in fact did a video with exactly that title, my version of Obagi. There are more reports surfacing over adverse reactions from the G spa. Have not yet been sold on the concept of microcurrent technology. Coupled with the expensive gels/creams used with it. And talk about time consuming. Sure could not be doing anything else while using the G spa. Let me know if you get it and love it!

I love the fur tres chic! Very interesting video. Can you still use the tretinoin with gadget? I have had it done in a Salon aces times following another treatment. Very relaxing. I don't think I would keep up the commitment of 20 mins a day. Shame we can't get the really big one at a reasonable price. Have you taken close up photos to compare with in a Year's time? @Angelmagik2 Gotta love the absolute beauty of faux fur. So soft, warm & realistic had to read the label twice to make sure it was not real! Absolutely you can use the LED with any other treatments you already use. I would not keep up with it if I could not multi task but I always read a bit every day so might as well do it with a light in one hand :) The faux fur being made now is amazing. Had to check the label to make certain this was faux and it is! Stay warm! xoxo

Hi Jan, I love your hat and scarf. So cute!!! I hear the plains are getting hit with a blizzard. How are you fairing where you are? I used to live in Oklahoma for a while and when they got snow they closed down the whole city till some of it melted. No plowing on secondary roads, just the highways. Stay warm and safe!

@MsCavalier01 Just west of us has been a flat out blizzard with over a foot of snow. Sadly we did not give even a flake just cold drizzly rain at about 39 degrees. The state highways are immediately cleared really well but the side roads get nada. Jan, you look fantastic and have no "hat hair" whatsoever! Thank you so much for doing this research and sharing with us. I can't wait to try it. I personally have had IPL treatments for my rosacea which made a world of difference but were pricey and not always convenient. I am still hesitant to try prescription retinoids again because they were so harsh on my skin. I would love your green tea extract to glycerol ratio when you have the chance. @Brouilly1 Thank you! I had thought of trying IPL for my rosacea but actually got control of it with antibiotics and topicals. I can not tell you how sold I am on Atralin. Had so much irritation with all the other retinoids and the difference has been night and day. We are doing a champagne brunch for Christmas dinner so no cooking for me-woohoo :) so that has helped me immensely. I have seen something like this on QVC but didnt pay much attention, looks very interesting. Im glad you didnt decide on Thermage, have heard/see bad things about it, ie, muscle,tissue loss in the face and that is very scary indeed-please keep us updated.
