how are you getting the sound into ae ?

@oskareagle well if a video has sound with it it will automatically have sound when you import to after effects, if you want render and play sound and video, click 0 on the number pad and if you just want to play sound tap . on the number pad :) and if you just want video tap the spacebar! Hope i helped, if you still arnt getting sound it might be because its not a format after effects knowss..

Does this render settings takes a lot of memory space?

@tribal1030jm as in ram, well if your running CS4, it is 32 bit so it only uses up to 4gb ram ( probably around 3gb because the rest is for other apllications and the operating system) so it uses around 3gb and abit, but if CS5, or CS5.5 it has 64 bit which means aftereffects can use as much ram as you want, if you have 6gb of ram it could most proabably use 5 and a bit gb. so basically when in CS4 it uses what is can and in CS5 nd CS5.5 it uses as much ram as u have :)

Hey just a tip, if you're doing a video on exporting; just do that. Don't show us how to colour correct, that's not what we came here for. Don't wanna come across as angry, it's just a tip :D

@DiPnF when u put it to the render queue there are settings under the file... hit the word "Lossless"... at the bottom of lossless new window... hit the audio output checkmark... now render ur video and it will have audio

@DiPnF alright... well to the right ussually there is a series of buttons u can press such as "play" "pause" "stop" etc. ... in those series of buttons there is one when u scroll over it called RAM Preview or something like that.... click it and it will load the video for a while and once done will continuosly play your video with audio till u stop it... if the buttons arent there then hit window-> or view-> player

@MajestyCinema you could buy an external numperpad to lug in ( usb) or you can use the PREVIEW panel in after effects and click RAM PREVIEW ( the last triangle with the three or four lines infront of it) :) Hope i helped :)

im trying to render 720p hd clips and i try to do avi but it wont playback the files no matter what codec, and i try quicklime, which makes a huge file!!! 1 gb for 4 minutes!!! all the other modes, mp4,h.264, all give absolute crap quality, and i dont know what to do. if you can help please do.

@hitthedeckstudios well knowing after effects, its always going to be a pretty large size. Try using quicktime and in the tutorial when i slect PHOTO JPEG, slelect H.264 instead, it produces same quality and slightly smaller size :) Or buy ( or downlaod a free , bought ones always better) video converter to convert your video, a paid one like Xillisoft, when useing the correct formats creates much smaller size and very good quality :) Hope I helped

@arkycitox yes it will work on windows 7 64 bit :) after effects CS5 and CS5.5 will only work on 64 bit :) whilst After Effects CS4 ( the one im using) works on 64 bit and 32 bit computers :) CS5 AND CS5.5 WONT WORK on 32 bit :)

@CrypticBTR it renders using OPENGL.. OPENGL is from the video/graphics card, its just a speed boost ;D google open GL in after effects.. for more info ;)

@SeezeHD Well it also depends on what you are doing, h.264 is great for it low size and pretty good quality for the web, where quicktime is great quality but large file size. In some cases you dont really need to worry about the file size just the quality. And sometimes you just need to worry about size.

@myowneffects no. The Jpeg doesnt make it as a picture everyframe. Its just a type of codec. If you want JPEG tinstead of clicking quicktime choose JPEG Sequence. This will set every frame as a jpeg :)

@illaDeuceMusic heyy! well i just use a good converter to mpeg4. The file size usually drops from a 2 minute movie from 3 gigs to arounf 50 to 100 megabytes. The quality looses abit but if you wannt you can strait away upload from photo jpeg but it will take forever
