@JonnyALC First off he had a perfect life and was not suicidal (according to his friends and family), so he had no reason to kill himself. He was working really hard on this role what he wasn't getting enough sleep so he had been taking sleeping pills and painkillers to help him out. What he did by mistake was misjudge the appropriate dosage. In fact he had a doctor's appointment set up before he died. If he was going to kill himself why bother going to the doctor? I hope this settles that.

The Joker had two different scars, one on his left and one on his right. One scar he got from what is father did (the scar that is clean cut) and the other scar is what he did to make his wife feel better (the scar that is jagged cut). I have realized this after watching The Dark Knight over and over and over again...

"The Killing Joke" the Joker doesn't really remember how he got the scars, so when he thinks about it, it's always a different story. he says "If I'm going to have a past, I'd rather it be multiple choice."

Joker does it because he wants to fuck with the victimes. He wants the victimes to feel sorry for him and see him in a good light as a victime like they are. That's why he changes the story. When he was about to kill the woman he was making a reference to his wife.

And how romanticly he wanted to be with her even thou she was scared from her face and to make them both ugly he would scar his face.

but she couldnt stand him because he was ugly.

It had nothing to do with insanity or believing.

When he was telling a story to a mob boss about the scars he discribes his father as a "fiend" and drunk. So he could relate to him before joker was about to kill him. I assume it was because he was black and blacks come from bad nabourhoods(stereotype) and because he was a mob boss. So he's probably seen drunken men in his youth.

What joker was trying to do the whole time in the movie was trying others to relate to him.
