While third parties might be a nice thing, I'm not sure they are that viable in America, considering our history. Maybe it could happen. I would rather see a moderating or at least diversifying of debate within the parties. There was a time when being a Democrat didn't mean you had to be liberal and being Republican didn't mean you had to be conservative. Furthermore, there was a time when you didn't have to equate with being just either liberal or conservative to talk politics.
It isn't true that a public option would be free. Everyone who works would pay for it. The excess cost for those who can't work could easily be paid for with just a few of the cuts Ron Paul suggested in his unsuccessful presidential bid. Instead of listening to all the paranoid lies fear suggests to them, Republicans ought to help create a fair approach to the outrageous screwing people are receiving from all the insurance scams out there instead of bending over for them.

The banks are now going to do away with free services such as free checking. the problem is most democrats are corrupted. he is one of the most honest democrats but he is not a barometer. I am independent too but I realize the GOP are not all the bad guys. the bad guys are on both sides. in fact, most of the regulation that got us into this mess was passed during the Clinton and Carter administrations. both parties are to blame but it is fallacious to say only the republicans are bad guys...i have trouble believing you are truly independent.

While third parties might be a nice thing, I'm not sure they are that viable in America, considering our history. Maybe it could happen. I would rather see a moderating or at least diversifying of debate within the parties. There was a time when being a Democrat didn't mean you had to be liberal and being Republican didn't mean you had to be conservative. Furthermore, there was a time when you didn't have to equate with being just either liberal or conservative to talk politics.

It isn't true that a public option would be free. Everyone who works would pay for it. The excess cost for those who can't work could easily be paid for with just a few of the cuts Ron Paul suggested in his unsuccessful presidential bid. Instead of listening to all the paranoid lies fear suggests to them, Republicans ought to help create a fair approach to the outrageous screwing people are receiving from all the insurance scams out there instead of bending over for them.

The left has not had any true power in 40 years. We have been in the throws of the Reagan philosophy for the past 30 years and it has bankrupted the country. I would not even call 100% of corporatists republicans.
A majority of campaign donations and money given by banks went to democrats. such as charles schumer, harry reid, pelosi, frank (who blocked regulation in '04), and obama; some of the leaders.
Healthcare is about 50/50 but many Rx companies give more to Dems...You cannot say that 100% are republicans. you are obviously blind. the blame lies with both parties just about equally (plus Dem presidents got us into this mess).
