  • I like this video, but I disagree with the grappling part. To counter a grappler, you need to be a better grappler. A grappler has a better chance of not fighting on the ground/getting off the ground than a person who refuses to take grappling. Even the finger breaks, eye gouges, dirty tactics on the ground are so much easier to pull off when you know your positioning.

  • @simonmafy broo..i agree with you.....you got the point right

  • im ready to beat up some drug dealers!

  • Measure and tempo.

  • the guys from the VT Museum. This man has learned a lot of different Wing Chun styles, he has travelled everywhere.

  • Super Nice video. My compliments on your expression and production.

  • Grab L ing

  • 8:12 about time, REAL advice from a real chinese fighter, take that you dumbass UFC and MMA western fighters

try your submission rubbish in a REAL life situation, lets see your grabs or submissions work on more then one person or your counter fails and you get slammed into a brick wall

  • @LAHrebirth - Why taunt MMA fighters when its Wing Chun practitioner that the ones scared to enter the cage? Take downs can be super quick, extremely powerful and faster than you can react. If you don't have the experience in defending against takedowns good damn luck, you will likely suffer a broken neck. Plus MMA fighters would not resort to submissions if they don't have to. They would use striking to annihilate their opponents.

  • @LAHrebirth - With MMA we train to fight in all ranges including mid-range which is where Wing Chun students practice. We have to train in all ranges because we have no idea what our opponents have been training. MMA training isn't easy, but its extremely effective. You would be a fool to think Wing Chun training is all you need to counter MMA fighters.

This is how real fighters train:

  • @LAHrebirth - Another thing if any SIFU or Wing Chun practitioner think its easy to counter an MMA fighter enter the damn cage. Within 30 fights you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars and possibly millions.

  • oh @schmendriks (though he's probably never going to see it lol) I practice wing-chun and we do full contact sparring all the time, and considering I'm an average sized girl, and one of my common sparring partners is a six foot black MMA dude, I think you're just looking at the wrong schools.

  • XD My sifu does the exact same thing saying "okay?" all the time. Maybe it's a wing-chun thing?

  • @Spoofehness My Sifu do the same!!!!! ajajjaja

  • I really believe that some people should see Wing Chun fighters before saying bullshit. Special Forces in some countries use Wing Chun as their combat form. If you don't believe check some videos here in YouTube. So, if Wing Chun is not efficient why Special Forces would use it??? Come on, check Wing Chun first and then you open your mouth to say something about you don't know.

  • Why is your stances in your videos so wide?

  • @TRUTH707 I agree with you, it's easy target in the groin and leg nerves..every wing chun vid i seen it's different from each other..but i do notice The really old master know real wing chun well or any Chinese art that's what i notice

since back then they had all the time to practice it well.. I've lot wing chun on yotube failing to confuse me.

  • Sorry to say that, but i'm doing Wing Chun myself...and your stand at 2:05 is just...let's say very open to attacks towards your nuts^^normaly Wing Chun fighters stand on back-foot and turn their knee in, so your lower body is safe from kick attacks + you can kick without changing weight from one foot to another. A street fighter would use that kick i guess...

  • @schmendriks ya me and my boy got into a fight and hes a street fighter i just picked up wing chun and i whooped his ass in the first 3 moves. I went against a mma fighter and he didnt think i could whoop his ass like that and if u look into choreography those moves are actually played out

  • I wish this guy would demonstrate more wing chun against wrestling fighters, cause i think wrestling, BJJ, muay thai and wing chun is the ultimate combination right now. but no one truly uses wing chun in MMA.

  • @DeridivisSatr27 Wing Chun can't be use in MMA because Wing Chun is a self-defense art whereas MMA has some rules. We, Wing Chun fighters, go through ways that one can not consider allowed at a fight. You have to consider that Wing Chun was created to be used to: be efficient using less energy and where you may not have a strong body.

  • @XuanWu1973 blabla bullshit excuses, MMA is super effective even WITH RULES, guess what happens when MMA fighters get into a streetfight WITHOUT RULES? yeah, you just owned yourself by bringing the * no rules* argument up.

wing chun is nothing more than a marketing scheme to get money out of westerners who saw too many kung fu movies but are too much of a pussy to join full contact fighting schools, so they rather play kung fu master without sparring or intense realistic training.

  • @schmendriks thank you for insulting chinese martial arts. we appreciate the discrimination.

  • @schmendriks @ktl2828 The thing is, MMA is actualy better for some people than Wing Chun.

Never forget that martial arts are too hard to compare for people who don't understand them well.

The only thing what realy matters is the person, may you understand these words and may your wisdom guide you.

  • @schmendriks yayaya you and your blaming about your mma whatever nobody cares.if your trying to reply this back your wasting your time cuz i aint replying this back.

  • @XuanWu1973 Just admit that Wing Chun is ineffective. What does rules have to do with effectiveness? If you don't test what you learn in actual combat (not just having someone pretend to fight you), how do you know if it will work?

  • @ktl2828 You do realize that WT practitioners have their sparring sessions, don't you? Stop trying to convince yourself that WT is ineffective when in facts it's not, please. Rules don't matter, you're right, what matter is the purpose: mma is meant to serve sport fighting purpose and don't take into account real situation, being it simulated or not. Just deal with it.

  • @ktl2828 ....what about you, have you studied wing chun? if you did, have you tried to someone in order that you may test its effectiveness/inffectiveness? if you haven't done then shut the hell your big mouth. Besides Wing Chun is a Martial Arts, so it's part of MMA idiot?

  • i love this martial art

  • wing chun is the trainer of bruce lee and his kung fu is great defence while u do attack pretty hard

  • @fbeast1995 What the hell did you just say?

  • Excellent tactics of defense within the system!the demonstrator flows easily and with precision as I gained a lot just by watching and visualizing!when training one must use visualizing and perception of range and motion...thank you for such useful insights!

  • the best marthal art

  • Great video, very good wing chun!

  • These techniques are so effective

who train wing chun would definitly will find it astonishing, who don't they will find it nonsense but be aware of a wing chun warrior.

  • Met master Benny Meng at his Wing Chun University. A great guy and very straight forward. Looking forward to attending his classes.

  • sucks to be the guy in the demo being the punching bag. lol

  • If you have proper base and rotation around your center you can be fast and powerful. Even proper wing chun trains this way. You can't just stand and use your hands as ballistics, it has to be backed and supported.

  • When he kicked, and you stand in that WC stance, you kicked the leg and say you have time and you saw it coming. Well im not convinced. First of all you TOLD HIM TO KICK YOU, so you KNOW that a kick is coming. I want you to do it without knowing what your opponent is going to do and your opponent will not stand there like a wooden dummy. Let him move and do HIS THING. Second. I believe that WC stance is a weak stance. your mobility is not great and a take down is easy to do. peace!

  • @minasz you dont have to stand centered, and more modern wing chun guys have a side stance similar to a boxer, i prefer that one because i can be ontop of a takedown attempt simply by taking a step back. centered is risky because both legs are there to grab unless your super fast, so the side stance only gives them one to grab so its hard to take down

  • @AsG1989 its not that their stance is a side stance, its that they have one foot forward. If you look closer, you'll see their center line is still pointed towards the bad guy

  • @Shuukyou yea the toes are pointed towards them but your also not standing completely verticle, i believe the stance is 70-30 foot positioning

  • very in depth, and good explanation of wing chun theories. salute!

  • search movies with si jo leung ting to see wing chun demonstrations and combat training...spooks in cia, fbi, in america learn this stuff, not all of them are all retards

  • I have met Benny Ming when he came to my school for two seminars with Yip Ching. He is a very knowledgeable and (just as important) APPROACHABLE man.

  • exelente

  • Watching the video it seems to me that the instructor very often "mirror" the opponent guard(same hand and leg ahead), is it a good strategy or it doesn't make any difference?

  • very practice !!!

    thank's

  • Two front stances away watch the rear knee.one front stance away watch the lead elbow.touch one arm watch the other! !

  • Great great stuff

  • @TanSauNg2008 Thankyou So very much for an excellent Video.

  • By the way, ground fighting leaves your entire body exposed to some serious Chin Na.

  • @ForwardIntent CHIN NA IS BAD ASS BRO HELL YEAH

  • Although quit Hung Fa Yi to learn Wing Chun from another teacher, I took with me some valuable principles: efficiency - minimum use of time, space, and energy.

  • thanks :)

  • Outstanding videos and explinations. I think any of us in the Wing Chun community can benefit from these.

  • I am loving these videos! I watched the video of the 3 forms and thought they were some of the best on the net. AND these explanations are fantastic. good job. Leaves little for others to argue with!

  • With all respect. All technics and principles shown were derived from Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun and should be stated. Sifu Mike Hung Fa Yi 8 year student under Grandmaster Gee. Daly City kwoon
