Wow... if you use your resources to rush and you lost, you really suck....

You must have at least 10 farmers getting you resources, then start rushing with sword mens, and build more barracks to make swordmans faster. during that time, you should also build up about 15 villager getting food wood and stone. You can get gold if it's needed, but stop getting gold if you have relics.

When you're rushing, go for his viliager first and stay away from their guard tower.

It's the easiest win.

Jus get the complete pack for 10$ in wal mart and log on to gamespy. The best deal for massive online multiplayer rts fun. I was always koreans, because few ppl understands its potential. What i do, in situations like this.

i always hide 3 villagers in different parts of the map far from my main base,

I have them all make town halls,

Then i slowly advance each town

into putting a barrier of 3 stone walls all 3 with gates around them (reason is you'll have enough time to send troops A.K.A there ambush failed :D)

Use a program called "Hamachi", it works as a "lan". Check some guides around, it's really easy to use. after that look on google for hamachi nets for this game :)

why does anyone do that? the best way to play AOE is to win in successive strikes. Fuck them around with light cal and archers until you can come in for the kill.

exactly, "constant attack". not "dry it all out and doom your self" ¬¬. but the "constant attack" has to be worth the resorces, an organized attack at strategic points.

Constant attacks does not work at "Strategic points" if the enemy has sealed their base behind walls, i put my money on a single huge ass attack, play it well and you will win.

Well in that case, a large attack is a great idea, what I meant was, you can't spend ALL your resources on 1 attack, because if your invasion fails, you will be open for a counter attack and fall. I think it's pretty hard to spend all your resorces in 1 go, due to population. I personally use big strategic attacks, I can't attack constantly, I don't like rampaging(only if necessary) either.

I personally create a massive force, as big as i can essamble, a single massed force with cavalery, infantry and archers, next to that alot of Trebuchet's, march towards the main base of the enemy, destryoing their buildings as fast as possible, as soon as the enemy would dare to exit their base and destroy my Trebuchet's, i advance with my army to cover them, if they then realise my force might be too big and powerful and back off, i continue the artillery fire. Tends to work.

what a coincedence ^^, my plan of attack is similar to yours. I create 2-3 main units(special unit + cav archer/canioneer) and trebuchets. I attack with trebuchet until it is clear of towers, walls and castels so my units can concentrate on units and villagers. I don't make a massive force though, cuz if I did, I'd be open for a counter attack that was planned at the same time as mine, or what ever...although if you go all out, your opponent wil freak out and go all out in defence.

uh, yes, Viking are nice at land, their Berserkers(I think I spelled it right) heal automaticly when standing, the wheelbarrel research( at the towncenter) and the ones after it are free, warships are cheaper. I think you already knew this though...

Actually, I sorted through them once...if you include upgrades for units as techs too, the Byzantines tie with the Spanish. Not to split it though - Spanish are a hech of a lot better imo.

If you are English, and play against Spain.. You must be a genius to deafeat them. Spanish is the best Civilisation.. What you did wrong.. was choosing the English. If you play against Spain, you shoud choose Turkey, Teutons or China.. The best of those 3 is China.. They have Chi-Ku-NI ( or what is called ). So... yeah..

Spanish is NOT the best civilization. In fact in AOE there is no "best" civ, they are all balanced out so that no civ is stronger then another. Also, Teutons against spain? I ask how its possible.

The best civ against spain is probably... the Huns, and thats just experience online.
