i heard that you can boot from your tiger installation disk and wipe your clean and then install snow leopard with the $30 upgrade.

You can press option-command-W to close all windows in any Mac application without quitting it.

no, you will simply update. All your files and apps are still there. I just did it, and WOW SNOW LEOPARD IS FAST!!!! and Amazing!

There is a way to close all your windows at once in every application (also in Finder)! press command - option - w

Nope. It gives me an error. 1.6.0 would probably fix that, and add OpenCL GPU accel. support too
