@ShinyNosepass They are gonna bundle both games for $40 but i don't think the bundle is worth it. If you care about th story i'd go ahead a buy the first 2, but if your just in it for the multiplayer i'd just get resistance 3.

Am I a bad person because I hate this game? I felt it wouldnt end, (with 30 levels...jeez) the difficulty was unforgiving and rage inducing, and the lack of health when it's needed is also something very pleasant.
On another note though, I can't wait for the third one.
My honest thoughts for resistance is that it's talked much, because it was the first title on ps3 to be any good. But not nothing to die for. You really think if it came out, when Killzone uncharted and stuff like that existed, we would care for it? Own both consoles and i really find it weird that many people compare it to halo or gears of war. Both are really better.. Now killzone this one yes it's great! Anyway i just hope resistance 3 will be good

I must admit it took me a LONG time to fully appreciate Fall of Man as the stellar FPS it is - it's much better than Resistance 2 in my opinion. Here's hoping that Insomniac give us a good long, atmospheric and meaty single-player campaign more in line with what we saw in Resistance 1 for Resistance 3!
What the hell are they arguing about? Anyway, I bought this because it is a greatest hits and only cost me like ten bucks. Great value. I got hooked on it and played through in a week. I usually don't pay any attention to FPS either and now I may get the next installment.
i think this game is pretty much halo.. to the point of where it bugs me :\ and this game and bioshock both have the smae problem: they have such a great idea but the actual gameplay feels half assed. not to mention the graphics are ehh but thats not the point. if it was more fluid and realistic it woulve been 300 times better. the story in RFOA is bland and the missions arent really explained and the objectives arent straight forward. anyway its alright. worth 10$. :D

In my opinion this is a great shooter. As it is a launch title it is basically a PS2 game, gameplay-wise, but has HD graphics. This is a good thing as, in my opinion, the last gen games were far more fun than the current gen we have now. Havn't you noticed that most games these days are all the same? I mean the COD series is a prime example. Its the same everytime and most shooters nowadays try to mimic COD. I love this and Bioshock because they are their own games, not some COD wannabe.........
Too bad the second game is alot like COD, and the thrid game looks like COD with some elements of the first game. What's great about this game, and bioshock is it doesn't force you to aim down the sights all the fucking time.
I got Resistance with my PS3 on Christmas 2006... this game is so underrated. Sorry to those who just bought the game, you're missing out on this beautiful online masterpiece that was once RFoM.

I'm unsure about this. I find Halo to be boring, and the targeting looks very similar, but the atmosphere looks a lot more interesting, and the multiplayer supports 40 players (60 in the sequel), and the sequel even includes 8-player co-op. Hmm...

@grimacekiller First of all, Resistance 3 is coming and it will be awesome. Second of all, more Halos doesn't mean it is better. Quantity is not the same as quality. The only reason there are so many is because Bungie knew that the Halo fans were dense enough to buy the same game over and over again, thus filling their pockets.
@grimacekiller I have a cousin. He has an Xbox and he has Halo Reach. I asked him some questions about the game and he told me he wan't really into shooters and that he just bought the game because it was popular. In other words, more sales doesn't make it a better game. I maintain that the Resistance storyline kicks Halo's arse. Gameplay is comparable between the two -- it is preference really. Halo graphics may be shinier but they are cartoonish and great graphics =/= better game.

hmmmm Never played this game until now... :( so now its actually not a good game compared to the newest next generation games... so I was a bit dissapointed in how the physics and movements where a bit stiff. It felt like a "good" ps2 game xD well, today I bought resistance 2 and hopefully it will meet todays standards! @godofwar860 its a chimera angle they lead the other chimera. they were going to study it and stuff like that but the angle had the other chimera come save it.
In my opinion, this game has the best first person shooter gameplay that I have ever played. The singleplayer campaign is just mind blowingly amazing. Most shooter campaigns are generic, but this one is just so much fun.
It has a very gripping story too. Even the sequel is good.

I own MW2 and I play it a lot. I used to own BFBC2 and I played the online a lot. And BF's campaign was a generic piece of shit. MW2's campaign on the other hand is truly a masterpiece.
But I PREFER Resistance 1 because the gameplay was much more fun because of the overall engine and the exotic weapon selection. Also, the story is a lot more enjoyable in Resistance in my opinion
Resistance 1's gameplay is a fast paced version of Halo.
Resistance 2's gameplay is a lot like Call of Duty.
They are both a lot of fun and it depends on which style of gameplay you like better. If you're looking for a game with better online, go with Resistance 2. If you're looking for a game with the better story and campaign presentation, get Resistance 1. Get both if you can ;)
@EnglishTurtle i just got Resistance 1 for only $14! Popped it in and freaking love it. I rented R2 a while ago and.. .i didn't like it that much. It seems average to me. But R1 is really fun. I think I like the atmosphere more and the story is really interesting. Thanks for replying though! I also just got Killzone 2 finally. lol gotta get ready for KZ3.
@dmajorhiphopproducer both :) R1 is a smaller scale game, but I feel it is harder. R2 has bigger bosses and bigger levels, but overall I thought it was easier.
because this one not only has a better story, but it has gameplay that feels old school at gives you a fair challenge. But resistance 2 feels like a generic noob friendly shooter that uses cheap gimmicks to give you a 'challenge' and changes the whole formula more than needed. but the online was good though.
I was very impressed with this game. It's so damn fun.

@getxstupid Most enjoy Resistance Fall of Man more, because it's long, the level design is better, and the tone is better. You were a soldier in the first Resistance rather than a super special guy in 2.

Uhm.. okay. When I played this game for the first time back in 06 it looked like no game i had ever seen. Still to this day they are great in my oppinion. The graphics are just so crisp and smooth. Unlike games like COD: world at war. A game that made my eyes hurt. Really this game was jaw-dropping on an HD-tv so what the hell is this baboon talking about?

Is it just me, or are people praising this game just because it's a PS3 exclusive launch title?
For the record, I am not a 360 fanboy AT ALL, I've played Halo 3; the campaign bored me to tears, and I didn't like the overall gameplay. This game looks very similar in terms of overall gameplay (other than just being an FPS), which I'm worried about.

I'm unsure about this. I find Halo to be boring, and the targeting looks very similar, but the atmosphere looks a lot more interesting, and the multiplayer supports 40 players (60 in the sequel), and the sequel even includes 8-player co-op. Hmm...

PS3 is way more expensive than the 360. 360 is a piece of shit that breaks down every minute, believe me I've owned one before. Ps3 has also better quality and Resistance 2's multiplayer with 60 players is considered one of the best.

@grimacekiller First of all, Resistance 3 is coming and it will be awesome. Second of all, more Halos doesn't mean it is better. Quantity is not the same as quality. The only reason there are so many is because Bungie knew that the Halo fans were dense enough to buy the same game over and over again, thus filling their pockets.

@grimacekiller I have a cousin. He has an Xbox and he has Halo Reach. I asked him some questions about the game and he told me he wan't really into shooters and that he just bought the game because it was popular. In other words, more sales doesn't make it a better game. I maintain that the Resistance storyline kicks Halo's arse. Gameplay is comparable between the two -- it is preference really. Halo graphics may be shinier but they are cartoonish and great graphics =/= better game.

hmmmm Never played this game until now... :( so now its actually not a good game compared to the newest next generation games... so I was a bit dissapointed in how the physics and movements where a bit stiff. It felt like a "good" ps2 game xD well, today I bought resistance 2 and hopefully it will meet todays standards! I mean seriously, resistance on the psp felt "newer" then this one :S So now it will probably be a bad idea to buy this game at full price! buy Resistance 2!!! :D

In my opinion, this game has the best first person shooter gameplay that I have ever played. The singleplayer campaign is just mind blowingly amazing. Most shooter campaigns are generic, but this one is just so much fun.
It has a very gripping story too. Even the sequel is good.

I own MW2 and I play it a lot. I used to own BFBC2 and I played the online a lot. And BF's campaign was a generic piece of shit. MW2's campaign on the other hand is truly a masterpiece.
But I PREFER Resistance 1 because the gameplay was much more fun because of the overall engine and the exotic weapon selection. Also, the story is a lot more enjoyable in Resistance in my opinion

Resistance 1's gameplay is a fast paced version of Halo.
Resistance 2's gameplay is a lot like Call of Duty.
They are both a lot of fun and it depends on which style of gameplay you like better. If you're looking for a game with better online, go with Resistance 2. If you're looking for a game with the better story and campaign presentation, get Resistance 1. Get both if you can ;)

@EnglishTurtle i just got Resistance 1 for only $14! Popped it in and freaking love it. I rented R2 a while ago and.. .i didn't like it that much. It seems average to me. But R1 is really fun. I think I like the atmosphere more and the story is really interesting. Thanks for replying though! I also just got Killzone 2 finally. lol gotta get ready for KZ3.

because this one not only has a better story, but it has gameplay that feels old school at gives you a fair challenge. But resistance 2 feels like a generic noob friendly shooter that uses cheap gimmicks to give you a 'challenge' and changes the whole formula more than needed. but the online was good though.
