look there's sooo many things I could say positive about this game, but :45 is exactly why I have a hard time feeling like the threat is realistic i feel like their basic overarching story was something someone would say on a whim about a typical robot invasion story...i don't like the way they've handled the players desire to stop the 'evil robots who dont like organic life...just cuz'........whew i feel better now

now this is a game !! IT IS AWSOME believe me dudes it is.i've played it and done it twice on veteren it rocks.better than ME1 much better and much more choices the story is better and longer aswell.i think it is the first game of all time and just for you to know it got 92/100 in Metascore Networks so its a must have ;)
I own Mass Effect 2 now and I do believe that it's that greatest game so far. Hands down. Bioware or how ever you spell your company name; keep up the kick ass games. I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3.
i have the game, basically if you liked mass effect 1, you're gonna be dissapointed - you cant even change your armour let alone layers of plating within the armour
i finished ME1 and imported the character to ME2. if i start over ME1 with my original character and make different choices then try to import him to ME2, will it play with the choices i originally played or the new ones?
I just finished the game yesterday,Amazing game, no words to describe, the first game is great and the second wonderful, i've played more than 35h to finish it, in my opinion it's essential to have finished the first one to import the character ^^
The whole point of only allowing 2 squad mates at once is so it is strategic to pick their strengths and weaknesses to the situation you are currently in

i founfd this game dissapointing because you spent almost most of the game going around recruiting members, and i fought to myself "when the actual game is going to start" and once you recruited all your members the games almost over.

@YBucket Also, this game manages to run perfectly on my 7 year old pentium 2.6c with 1.5gb ram and an agp ati hd 2600xt 256mb. This version of the unreal engine is really tuned out to the max.
@EddieChute if by best game of all time you mean as dull and boring as the first one your right. all it is is mindless decisions that do nothing but slow down the game. just didnt live up to the hype for me. i just dont understand why all these 360 exclusives ALWAYS have to have a very heavy slow character. (gears and mass effect mostly) or rediculously cheasy like halo. the diversity i get out of the xbox is just not satisfying at all, slow shooter here slow shooter there thats all we get.

There's nothing about this game that is memorable. All the new characters are easily forgettable (didn't give much of a damn when any of them died at the end). And the returning characters have very weak parts.. you only got to see Ashley in only 1 scene in the entire game! Come on Bioware... I thought the decisions from ME 1 were supposed to make a big impact. Oh and another thing... there's NO explorations at all. All the game's cities and levels are narrow corridors that're linear and boring.

Can somebody please tell me why this fucking game was put onto 2 discs??? It has considerable LESS contents than ME 1 and it sucks!!! There's no exploration anymore, everything is a linear corridor. Remember when you visited the Citadel in ME 1 and it's a big ass place? Well in ME 2 the Citadel is a pathetic 3 level narrow corridor. And don't forgot how they got rid of the world explorations... that was what set Mass Effect apart... world explorations!! and they got rid of it.
Hi, I want to research the missile launcher in the game but it says that I need a heavy weapons ammo upgrade before doing so. So I was wondering where to find or how to get this upgrade. Thanks.
u have to go to mordin and investigate. go to normandy upgrades. guns and then there is an option of heavy weapon ammo. if u cant get it u should read the whole thing and upgrade whatever else is missing
I Hope that ME3 like most trilogies, doesn't mess up the ending, cos that would be a HUGE shame since the first 2 games are really good, but obviously, even with it's little flaws, and almost no glitches, the first game will always be the best.....

very VERY disappointed in Mass Effect 2. The story is next to shit and nothing compared to the original game. Seriously I knew the whole damn storyline before I even purchased this game. The developer diary reveals that you're recruiting your squad for a suicide mission, but little did I know that THAT was everything to the storyline. Fuck you Bioware for such a shitty game!!!
p.s. M920 Cain gun is the only good thing about this game... sigh.
Personally I think so, its quite cheap to buy and if you want to try it out you can borrow it from a freind. My favourite game used to be Halo: 3. The background just wowed me, but when I played Mass Effect. I was blown away and Halo was kicked off my top spot for game background and story. But when it came to Mass Effect 2, it truly punished Halo. It is now, in my opinion the best game ever. I strongly reccomend you buy this but on subject. Yes play the first game before the second.

Does everyone agree with me that the "grenade launcher" and "missile launcher" are both LAME?? I mean the explosions isn't larger than a shotgun blast... it's pathetic. yes. If you start a new game and finish both playthroughs, ME3 will detect both and it'll be a choice of which one you want to continue with. Either that or you do multiple playthroughs with all of your ME2 characters on ME3.

Fair enough: their gameplay styles are a fair bit different from eachother. ME1 was more focused on the storyline and exploration. ME2 leaned more towards fast-paced combat. Personally I liked ME2 better for the pacing, but that's just me :)
OK I hate to upset everyone who likes this game but this game REALLY SUCKS. I was really looking forward to the heavy weapons that was supposed to "kill someone a thousand times over". SERIOUSLY.... one of the developers actually had the balls to say that. The heavy weapons are a complete joke, they are fucking lame and weak as hell (excluding the mini nuke launcher), other than that all the other weapons are laughable. Story sucks too, not once was I shocked or mesmerized like I did with ME 1.

Look at Assassins Creed 2. WAY better than the first one, whilst leading off the first.

Looks like one of the biggest ripoffs of Halo I have ever seen. Also its a 3rd person shooter = Garbage. That one alien looks almost exactly the same as the arbitor.
Umm.......you mean the turians? No, they do not look like elites (the Arbiter). And frankly we could call Halo a ripoff of other things, so.........your circular logic + lack of knowledge of the game = FAIL :)

I HATED Mass Effect 1. I played like six hours just to get past the intro (Being a something knight). It was 99% talking and 1% really bad action. Same goes for dragon age, it tought it was a horrible game.
Now, should I try this one or should I just skip it?
Tough call. It's similar to ME1, but there is a fair bit more action to be had than the original. Also, better weaponry, less graphical glitches AND NO MORE ELEVATORS :D
MAG Sucks I Bought it thinking it was going to amazing, turns out its frontlines fuel of war with 256 players, bad graphics and gameplay, traded it in and got mass effect 2 =]

Hi, I want to research the missile launcher in the game but it says that I need a heavy weapons ammo upgrade before doing so. So I was wondering where to find or how to get this upgrade. Thanks.

u have to go to mordin and investigate. go to normandy upgrades. guns and then there is an option of heavy weapon ammo. if u cant get it u should read the whole thing and upgrade whatever else is missing

I Hope that ME3 like most trilogies, doesn't mess up the ending, cos that would be a HUGE shame since the first 2 games are really good, but obviously, even with it's little flaws, and almost no glitches, the first game will always be the best.....

very VERY disappointed in Mass Effect 2. The story is next to shit and nothing compared to the original game. Seriously I knew the whole damn storyline before I even purchased this game. The developer diary reveals that you're recruiting your squad for a suicide mission, but little did I know that THAT was everything to the storyline. Fuck you Bioware for such a shitty game!!!
p.s. M920 Cain gun is the only good thing about this game... sigh.

Personally I think so, its quite cheap to buy and if you want to try it out you can borrow it from a freind. My favourite game used to be Halo: 3. The background just wowed me, but when I played Mass Effect. I was blown away and Halo was kicked off my top spot for game background and story. But when it came to Mass Effect 2, it truly punished Halo. It is now, in my opinion the best game ever. I strongly reccomend you buy this but on subject. Yes play the first game before the second.

Does everyone agree with me that the "grenade launcher" and "missile launcher" are both LAME?? I mean the explosions isn't larger than a shotgun blast... it's pathetic. I thought these heavy weapons were supposed to "kill somebody a thousand times over" (according to bioware developers). They must be embarrassed by their statement now... LMAO

yes. If you start a new game and finish both playthroughs, ME3 will detect both and it'll be a choice of which one you want to continue with. Either that or you do multiple playthroughs with all of your ME2 characters on ME3.

Fair enough: their gameplay styles are a fair bit different from eachother. ME1 was more focused on the storyline and exploration. ME2 leaned more towards fast-paced combat. Personally I liked ME2 better for the pacing, but that's just me :)

OK I hate to upset everyone who likes this game but this game REALLY SUCKS. I was really looking forward to the heavy weapons that was supposed to "kill someone a thousand times over". SERIOUSLY.... one of the developers actually had the balls to say that. The heavy weapons are a complete joke, they are fucking lame and weak as hell (excluding the mini nuke launcher), other than that all the other weapons are laughable. Story sucks too, not once was I shocked or mesmerized like I did with ME 1.

Look at Assassins Creed 2. WAY better than the first one, whilst leading off the first.

Looks like one of the biggest ripoffs of Halo I have ever seen. Also its a 3rd person shooter = Garbage. That one alien looks almost exactly the same as the arbitor.

I HATED Mass Effect 1. I played like six hours just to get past the intro (Being a something knight). It was 99% talking and 1% really bad action. Same goes for dragon age, it tought it was a horrible game.
Now, should I try this one or should I just skip it?

Tough call. It's similar to ME1, but there is a fair bit more action to be had than the original. Also, better weaponry, less graphical glitches AND NO MORE ELEVATORS :D
