i cut my finger and cracked a small part just putting the f**king protector plastic around it since its so god damn tight... part from that im excited to plug it in ;)
Maybe show us how we can extend the midifighters function by showing some fast hands assembling Fader / Slide Potentiometer / Knobs? I'd like a fader a long with a midi fighter... Nice job
@HeavenFort DIY stuff always stay like this... but you can use some glue or something to get a plastic on the side or something, that would "protect" it :S
Looks sexy, especially with the customization elements. The kit is pushing $200 including the buttons though, with an environmentally exposed circuit board and fixed velocity buttons. What makes this cooler than a Padkontrol or similar device that has pressure-sensitive pads, nigh-endless farmpad configuration, XY control, etc? A launchpad gives more buttons even. Not to mention the cheap 50-60 dollar nano type pads out there.
Add a bank of 2x4 knobs to it and I'll be in line, however. :)
The whole point is to modify it to make it your own. In addition, pressure sensitive pads are more geared towards people doing things like drumming with pad controllers, while this is more for controllerism, which calls for more responsive pads, and there is no need for anything pressure sensitive. It's all a matter of preference, and what your end goal for each controller is. If you are planning on cue-point juggling for example, this is preferred, because the arcade buttons are more responsive
I own the korg nanoPad and I think it is better in some situations. But you can set it with korg's own little app so that the pads are no longer velocity sensitive.
But...the midi fighter is 10 times more sexy than any controllers I have seen out there.
@rhadiem lol the feel of it ? build quality and size? its not massive but its not too small. the buttons will last pretty much for ever and r easy to mash on them. its not that expensive idk y everyones trippin lol.
@rhadiem what makes it better? rapid fire triggers. hands down the coolest thing you can do with a controller. You cant do that on pressure sensitive pads.
yes- it sends out all native midi notes just like a drum machine so you can plug it in and play beats in ableton, live or reason with no configuration.

These midi fighters are amazing! Not saying its not worth it, but the price is a bit steep for my budget.

The only thing that bugs me is the circuit board being exposed...any tips or ideas to fix that?
HeavenFort 2 years ago
@HeavenFort why that bugs you?
tiagofumo 1 year ago
@tiagofumo
because dust or other thing you don't want (water for instance) could fiddle around the circuits.
