I think Ray Barretto has always been able to look at young talent and give them an oportunity to develop their craft. Ralph Irrizary was a great timbalero then, very original, and he has definately developed into a master timbalero. One who has taken latin jazz to a new level.

The video is good, thank you but Irrizarry has to be the most overrated timbalero on the planet. One of Ray's strangest choices, or is it just me?

He's alright, ya we could start naming off a list of who we feel are better timbaleros, but its a matter of taste in the end. Maybe Ray Barreto just enjoyed playing with him, personality is a big deal when you are on the road.
