Great Video! You look so pleased taking that ride ! Love to do that to with my Beetle. Just takin it for a ride. Feels good :) And i like the Banjo Music. Greets from Germay.
That's cool to see. Glad it went well for you. My grandfather had a beige bug from the mid 70s until 1999. I have a few nice memories of going places in that car. Though he never went up to 70! I'd say the fastest he ever went was about 45.
In the late 70's my father and I had a wreck in a VW bug (60's model Dad loved to drive) when a cow walked on to the road in the middle of the night. My father reacted so quickly that we avoided hitting the cow but flipped the bug. It spun like a top and we looked like we had been in a blender. We were banged up but nothing serious. Our survival of that night is a good memory of what wonderful man my father was. Thanks for posting this, good memories!
i see in this video that you have the sholder belt and not trying to be rude or anythin but i had a friend wear ith the same way you are with the top part under you shoulde and he got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt becouse its supose to be accrose the sholder just letting you know becouse i would hate to see you get a ticket from that
@gasjockey101 This car didn't come with seat belts. Someone put this one in but mounted it wrong. It's the only way you can wear it. I've got to re-do that.
@gasjockey101 just my 2cents but I do believe anything older than 1969 is not required to have seat belts because most never came with them until the 70's(anyone can correct me if I am wrong on the years)
My buggy has clutch chatter real bad. Always has, even with new clutch and new pressure plate. Can't hardly use 1st at all. Wish I knew how to get rid of it.
@bc65925 bowden tube is one of those simple parts that looks like it shouldn't make any difference at all, but if it the kink is off even slightly, you have problems. if you do a search for "bowden tube solid mounts" some people on samba said it is not necessary for use with solid mounts on buggies, but i dont know if that is true or not because samba people are wrong a lot of times
I too love driving my 63 beetle, stock 40 horse motor, drum brakes and skinny little tires. Driving these cars well is a rewarding experience.
