"Super Dimensional Fortress Macross"(1973) was the original anime that the first series of Robotech used and rewrote from the japanese to form their story. All three series had original stories but were combined with each other and the only thing they had in common was that they had "Super Dimensional" in the names. IN terms of the original Macross it had several series. Including this one the 25th anniversary.
