I am Catholic and I tell you, if FOCA is signed we will shut down our hospitals rather than perform a single abortion. If I was a doctor I would rather lose my job than perform a single abortion. If these hospitals shut down, this will be a major blow on the poor (who are already suffering enough from a bad economy) because Catholic and christian hospitals have always provided health-care to the poor and un-insured. If we are forced to shut down, what will they do? Where will they go?

As an adoptive mother I know the immense blessing that is a birth mother. It is God's plan for unplanned pregnancy, not death. I pray for and thank God every day for my son's birth mother. She is my hero! If there were more people that were sounding boards for the blessing of adoption and if more government officials would focus on viable, positive alternatives like making adoption more affordable and making the paperwork less of a hassle, then everyone would benefit.

Wade, abortion is not seen as such an abnormal thing any more. 36 years ago, if it were as obvious as it is today that it is a human life we were talking about, the issue would have been short-lived.
