There are people who have been in switzerland for 3 generations and still cannot become swiss, because switzerland has the most racist naturalisation laws in the West.
That's atcually not true. Of course they don't magically become Swiss just because they live there or were born there. But you CAN become one, if you want and it wont be a huge problem if you put a bit of effort in it. It depends a bit form Kanton to Kanton but the highest you have to have lived somewhere is 12 years as far as I know. So nothing with 3 generations, that just shows those people never even tried...
Look on the Swiss rules moron, it's 12 years in EVERY canton, that's a federal regulation. Nowhere else in the West is it that difficult (plus in switzerland you have to go through 3 layers of very expensive bureacracy- canton, confederation, and commune, many people were rejected by voters just because they had non-european sounding names or were not christian, even when they fulfilled all criteria).

I never said my country is perfect. No country is. I know the procedure may not be the easiest but you know, you don't HAVE to become Swiss. You can live perfectly fine here without having a Swiss passport.
the point I was making, Parapooshit, is that the swiss naturalisation laws are the most racist and thus discourage many qualified people who have lived there for many years from trying or even applying, because in the eyes of the swiss they are not good enough to be swiss. I don't think you will have a lot of problems. Swiss people aren't the most open minded group of the world. But in general you can say: Be friendly and people will be friendly too. It's like everywhere in the world, basically. If the Swiss life style wills uit you, I don't know though. You'll have to see for yourself. Not everyone likes it. :D

It's total wrong they are swiss and have nothing to do with the germans. They are an other folk, they don't speak german but a germanik dialect that the germans are not able to understand. The swissalemanik don't like the germans but a few of the during the war, had sympatie to the germans.

Je suis d'accord avec le fait que certains étrangers apportent (ou ont apporté) beaucoup à la Suisse. Par ex. les italiens qui ont collaboré à la construction du réseau routier et surtout des tunnels dans des conditions très difficiles.... Mais d'autres sont des criminels et devraient être expulsés sans concession ! Il faut combattre la criminalité pour le bien de tous !

well about "sound swiss" i have no problem at all my father tought me well and also i studied i a swiss school since i was 3 so the language is just normal to me, right now im learing italian which is very easy to me now that i know a bit of spanish, but when compared (Germanic languages with Latin ones) they are very very different.

Well i just asked, i have lived in switzerland, my father says i am swiss, i have the passport and nacionality, as far as i know the swiss people are racist with black and indian people, and i have no physical characteristic of someone from latin america, im sort of blonde and hazel eyes, tall, skin between pink and white (which is normal in europe) and usually peoplefrom latin america are very dark skin colored or black, and very short, most of my family there is swiss, so what do you think?

The problem is you won't sound swiss, because your mother-tongue is not swiss-german. Therefore you won't be accepted. Black and brown people have it bad enough in switzerland, but even white-skinned north americans or europeans who are not swiss do find it very difficult to fit in among the swiss.

That's atcually not true. Of course they don't magically become Swiss just because they live there or were born there. But you CAN become one, if you want and it wont be a huge problem if you put a bit of effort in it. It depends a bit form Kanton to Kanton but the highest you have to have lived somewhere is 12 years as far as I know. So nothing with 3 generations, that just shows those people never even tried...

Look on the Swiss rules moron, it's 12 years in EVERY canton, that's a federal regulation. Nowhere else in the West is it that difficult (plus in switzerland you have to go through 3 layers of very expensive bureacracy- canton, confederation, and commune, many people were rejected by voters just because they had non-european sounding names or were not christian, even when they fulfilled all criteria).

the point I was making, Parapooshit, is that the swiss naturalisation laws are the most racist and thus discourage many qualified people who have lived there for many years from trying or even applying, because in the eyes of the swiss they are not good enough to be swiss. Whether it takes 12 years or 8 years is irrelevant, the fact of the matter is that it's meant to make foreigners or even their children discouraged from ever feeling swiss, no matter how long they've lived there.

Why can't you say so without cursing? Because THAT point is actually quite valid and I think so too. It isn't helping to make people feel accepted. On the other hand, I have several friends who talk swiss german fluent and everything but don't have a swiss passport. You don't need it to feel "swiss" (whatever that is anyway). The only problem you really have is that you can't vote.
But Switzerland isn't the only country where it isn't that easy to get a passport, mind you.

I don't think you will have a lot of problems. Swiss people aren't the most open minded group of the world. But in general you can say: Be friendly and people will be friendly too. It's like everywhere in the world, basically. If the Swiss life style wills uit you, I don't know though. You'll have to see for yourself. Not everyone likes it. :D
