Although it does have a tendency to corrupt some of my gameplay files, this only happens sporadically. It can also sometimes, while recording, slow down gameplay in a game but I've yet to come across this.
@galleyuk Hi, great vids, may I make you a question? Which settings do you use when you record with FRAPS? And do you directly upload the videos that fraps makes or you convert them before putting them on youtube?
Also, if you do convert them, which program do you use and which settings? I need to know since the quality of my videos doesn't satisfy me but yours look great! Thx a lot.
@theFoffo90 I record at 29.6fps (according to Fraps) or 30fps if you're being pedantic.
After recording the videos, I use Sony Vegas 8 to piece together all the video files into one or in parts. I trim some of the unnecessary stuff and do some small transitions so as not to disrupt the flow.
I render them at 1920x1080 which takes a LONG time to do depending on the length of the final video. I then use Xilisoft to convert the final video down into 1280x720 resolution and then upload that to YT.
I have tried the early levels on Hard just to see what the difference was. Long story short, I got my ass handed to me. Several times over.
The only level I've got hit on so far is Hatshepsut (which I still kick myself for). I'm up to Oasis as I type, so that means I've completed four levels without getting hit.
I don't tend to go into a level with the thought of 'try not to get hit'. Most of the time, it's knee-jerk reactions that save me. That and practice. Lots of practice.
@galleyuk I actually did this level on 'serious' without being hit, and killing all enemies. :) Got global rank #91 under the name 'Kaketrinsa'. I do believe my score would have been better if I had lost some health and picked up the health bottles, but oh well. :) :P Can you beat me on the leaderboards? :D
@Swaggy04 Wow! That's certainly something. I bow to your superior reflexes. Like I say, Hard is probably my limit if I'm feeling adventurous. I wouldn't worry yourself about your high score, I doubt I'll ever come close to it. I'm not brave nor skilled enough for Serious.
Galleyuk, do you think it will be good on the xbox 360? Or worse? Idk, not just the visuals & stuff, I mean the gameplay... like obviously it's a little easier to aim with the mouse but idk... do you have any ideas.
Perhaps Croteam will do the same thing they did for Serious Sam on the XBox as they may do for SSHD on the XBox 360.
Obviously, because of a lack of mouse and keyboard, it kind of cripples the precise aiming mechanism slightly. But, they did use an auto-locking system in Serious Sam that locks on to each enemy. They might use that again but I'm not entirely sure.

What is it with Beheaded Rocketeers? One jumps the gun and attacks ahead of time, another commits suicide.

Most of the HD stuff looks great, but come on, the Reptiloids look like crap (atleast theyre animations).
LameMovieCo 2 years ago
To be honest, when I first saw how the Reptiloids looked, they seemed a bit odd and stiff in their animations.
Generally speaking, I'm not that bothered by their appearance. Gives me more of an excuse to finish them off as quickly as possible.

Fraps. Never lets me down.

Ahem, apart from that, I can't fault it.

I do believe you could do better than Normal.
