  • i live in sackville

  • for all you idiots out there that said sackville sucks and deserved it and its the firefighters fault just remember this sackville dorchester port elgin fire departments are volunteer and if you don't know what that means it means they all did the same danderous job as full time firefighters and faced the devil for free to try and save property and life. Hopfully no one in your family will ever have to go through what these people did, and by the way a few firefighters where injured a\ll forfree

  • @1974holmes well said

  • I lived in the third flloor fartherest room, when it caught the fire and down.

I was away for the night.

Next day I realized I lost everything in my apartment... haha

  • 5:05 window to my bedroom (to the right) in 2000 - 2001.

  • fuck you uniden621 you can go fucking stick a nuke and 10 cocks up your ass but it still won't be your record

  • Utter BS that the audio was removed

  • oh you ass hole uniden621 go get a life

  • whos the fucker who said we deserved it

not kool man i almost lost everything in that fire

  • @wammybar23 hahahahahahahahaha

  • How can you make a comment so rude and derogatory to an entire town when such a large loss has taken place. There are alot of great people in Sackville, and cudos to the many fire fighters to help save the rest of the town. Some of us "isolated simpletons" are proud of our community and our firefighters and other service personnel.

  • yeah i agee with you... that was a huge fire... i was away when it happend but it`s cleared up now!! and they put other stuff there now! it looks a lot nicer without that building there... well thats what i find any ways. so if you have something bad to say keep it to your self would yeah!

  • "A town full of isolated simpletons"

You can't possibly imagine how true that saying is.....they could write a book on Sackville's pathetic-ness. Nuke it all....

  • ya that sucked big time, I was there when it was still standing and I didnt think when I went to work the next morning the roof was going to be fallen in or nothing, was crazy.. they said it was due to old wiring and it caught fire from the basement

  • i thought it was fucking hilarious.....especially when some nerd comes and tries to be cool with you.....FUCK YOU NERDS

  • i was there the next morning

  • The smoke got into the open windows in my house 4 blocks down. I saw it still smoking in the morning and then being demolished

  • 100 yr old buildings rarely fare well in fires. countless renovations over time will lead to hidden voids that allow a fire to travel.a fire in a basement will end up in the attic. not much u can do but try to keep the damage as localized as possible.

As for having to call in Amherst.. Extra equipment and manpower is always a welcomed relief when fighting a fire over a long period of time. except at my department ;)

but, you had no idea. go back to your latte.

  • I was there that night. I just wanted to go to Duckys, nxt thing u know the whole damn corners in flames... I blame the volunteer firefighters..we had to call in Amherst..jeesh

  • If you knew anything....anything about fighting fire or calling for mutual aid from other departments I might take this comment serious. With a name like starbucks you'd probably be more worried about your triple shot no foam latte then anything to do with community service. Oh....sorry you couldn't get a beer that night, I hope you were able to manage

  • such a tragic moment..august 11th..me and my friends just finished watching a movie at the vogue...like 10 minutes before the fire...it was really freaky when i found out...thats why our pizza was late

  • omg...i still cant' believe it

  • Wow! How sad. What was the cause?

  • STAIRWAY!!!! i hemmoraged when i heard percy plant's voice!

  • wow....not good.

  • It's just so unbelievable. My mom told me on the phone, but I havent been home in like a year. I havent seen it for myself so fo course it hasnt registered.

It's strange how so much has changed in sackville since I left.

  • Man. How did I not hear of this. I was wondering where that block of downtown went when the family and I stopped in a few eeks back. now I know.

  • I am a Firefighter with the Sackville Fire Department and I also work for Sackville Cab one of the businesses that was lost in the fire. I was at my sister's just 2 minutes from town when the fire was reported

  • I had heard about the fire the day after it happened but this is nothing like what I heard.

  • wow, so sad. I love Sackville so much.

  • I've walked by and into those burned buildings 1000xs since since 1988..so strange to think that there gone

  • Hey everyone - Just to let you know, you can download the full, high quality video over at http://www.mta.ca/pub/fire.html. The pub staff (Scooter) did a great job putting this video together - I just compressed and uploaded for YouTube. Kudos to the hard work of all those who fought the fire. Project:Rebuild has begun - check it out at: http://projectrebuild.mtasac.ca/

  • Hey bud I tried that link but couldn't access the full video..could you email the link to me thanks man

  • My God, I live about 5 minutes away from town. And that night, I was sitting outside and I was like, "I swear I smell smoke." I was right. Christ...poor students. Is it true that animals died in the fire? If so...R.I.P nameless creatures. In a way, I wish it didn't happen. I mean, I am not found of my own town but...it is still sad that it happened. Well, I hope those affected by the fire, recover soon.

  • Holy Shit... I'm so damn sad right now. No one told me. I was talking to my mother.. Asked her if anything new happened recently. Never mentioned a thing. My sister just told me. This is Paul Ward by the way, if anyone knows me. Lived in sackville for 15 years or so. I'm going to have to get a drive though and see what has become of my old home town. :( Damn..

  • amazing to see something so close to where I live!

  • i just cant stop watching this video, im still in shock, nothing this big and exciting rarely happens in sackville lol but when it does the whole town gathers in one spot, i still wish i was there to see it but i could see the smoke from my house and im on the marsh lol. still thanks again for uploading

  • w0w dude...all i could think watching this was how i had walked by those buildings hundereds of times, and i never knew that students lived in them before the fire...i hope there's a fundraiser for them. i wasent in town that night either, i only heard about it the next morning. thank god no one was hurt

  • It's a shame that people lost so much. But, that's the risk you take when you don't have insurance. Will there be a fundraiser to help the students? I will be happy to contribute.

Well, that saved the university from tearing down some more historic buildings in Sackville.

  • thank you very much for uploading this video, i wasnt in town the that night so i didnt really see what happened i only saw itthe night after. thanks again ^-^

  • Tenant insurance costs $100 bucks a year. $100 could save you lost of grief!

  • 11 Students lost everything. Most had no insurance.
