I own a hv20. I've taken footage from it that rivals 16mm (I made a couple shorts on that format), and I've taken footage from hv20 that looks like crap. Don't know why. Well it depends. What is your budget, what look are you trying to achieve, and what format do you want to shoot on. The dvx is around 1500 dollars much cheaper than lets say a Sony EX1/3, it is amazing quality due to its Leica lens but its not HD, and it shoots on a 4:3 card not 16:9.
hmm thanks. well i my other option is the canon xh a1s. i know that lighting matters the most but still debating. i plan not to spend more than 3500 on the camera. then get the letus extreme after. any suggestions. thanks.
True, but with with the canon hv30 you loose the very important ability to have manual zoom, focus, xlr mic inputs, matte box, nd filters etc. The list goes on.
the hv30 has manual zoom and focus and with the letus you have more focus control. i use a rode video mic with a 25' wire and a homemade boom pole the sound is great. filters can be bought. just remember the more stuff you have doesnt mean the better it will look. it all depends on who is behind the camera and in front of it. i have shot with other cameras that had all those features, they took away the mobility that the hv30 had

Its an amazing work of edition, a very funny story and an excellent performance. The only thing that I think that can be improved is the control of the lights. Im sure you will be famous soon. I really like it bcause it was done in a very beautiful place, Dublin,and it was done by the people that make 5 year a very special year. I hope to see all of you soon, remember that everyone is welcome in Mexico, specially this summer that Hendrik is coming.

don't bother, just get a canon hv30 with the letus 35mini. it will do they ssame thing but half the price!

The Letus 35 fe. One of the first Letus products to be manufactured before the letus extreme etc all came in.
