I was trying to remember what this movie was called for months!

Looked up a lot of stuff hoping to find something through google, and by some miracle it worked with "preacher meets girl and blind father" lol.

Saw it on TV, woke up at like midnight and it was on...stayed up to see it and I'm glad :)

This is a great, overlooked film. I've read the book. The man in the gorilla costume ain't in the motion picture adaptation. The author of the book, I believe it was Flannery O'Connel, wrote a short story about a young girl whose parents are away and some James Dean wannabe invades her home and takes her in his car then rapes and kills her.

@HamsterFueledRocket I've seen the film in 1987, so I might have forgotten the man gorilla in it. Let's do this again: I remember a nude scene of the ugly child in the movie, in the book there was no such thing.

@schizophrantic I am almost certain that she doesn't get totally nude in the film(if your talking about Sabbath Hawkes). There is the flashback scene with the nude woman in the box, but that is in the book. Haha, if your try to contrast them you could note that the dirctor of the film version is and atheist and O'Connor was an adamant Catholic. This affects the tone at least, if not the whole message.
