@HenkSpankK The Galaxy Nexus here in Canada is a dual core and it might cost more but you will get the updates first. It comes with ICS already installed where as the Optimus 2x might never see the Android 4.0 update. LG is already going to discontinue this phone. In the US there is a class action lawsuit against LG from many unhappy customers. You can search this on Google. You pay for what you get most of the time.

@ap0lmc Overhere in Europe the Nexus is like $600. And I believe for sure that LG has lots of unhappy customers, without a doubt. I never liked LG really much either but I think android 4 will come to the optimus 2x if you use the custom cyanogenmod rom.

While the phone is only about $300 I cant really miss this offer don't you think?

optimus is terrible dont even bother it looks good on paper but once you acctually start to use it, its far from good compared to other phones on the market, its slow it lags apps crash all the time you have to wait forever fro updates, gets very hot wiht only the little bit of usage, lg home is so laggy its not even funny even pinching out to veiw all home screens is laggy and jumpy. dont even bother its a waste of time.

Doesn't really make sense the faults because I know about 50 who have the galaxy s2 and none have a fault at all. So confused at those complaints maybe the usa versions are the dodgey. I like the screen more on the s2. I mean your going to get what you pay for I got an s2 because I know what I am getting. its price vs quality at the moment if its a competition between phone contents s2 has more benefits no argument. So if you lacking cash go for lg if you can spend a but more get an s2.

@HenkSpankK If you willing to spend a lot of time. I spent hours and downloaded MIUI custom ROM and it is ok GPS sucks and Yahoo sucks, Skype works. Laggy on GB 2.3,7. Waiting for ICS/ Android 4.0 but some people said that the developers have given up on this phone. Talked to one MIUI developer and he said I have to be patient they will have it. That might be 3-6 months from now. Google Nexus I heard will always get updates first as this is from Google.

@ap0lmc But the nexus phones are way more expensive. And phones in the price range of this optimus 2x (275 Euro's) are all single core while this lg has dual. Alternatives are for example: Samsung galaxy s plus, HTC desire S, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray or Motorola Atrix 4G.

But I think in the price range the optimus 2x is the best isn't it? or should I go with the Motorola Atrix 4G which is 50 Euro's more and also dual core.

Oh, and another thing, when you are testing the opening speed while opening some basic apps like calendar,maps, and so... It looks for you and for us as if the Samsung is faster, but in fact they are both the same in speed!

Look at the time on both devices at the beginning of the video. Then look at the battery indicators. Now look at the time and battery at the end of the video. About 30 minutes of testing yes? Both batteries seem to have dropped a "line". Keep this up and they will die in what, 4 hours? Bullshit really. Its a shame both Samsung and LG both use such horrible icons in their custom skins. Samsung have certainly improved touchwiz since the Galaxy S and there are some genuinely useful features but neither of them really add functionality that cannot be replicated through use of third party applications. Its a real shame that they decided to skin these two great devices
