@bdd458: Thanks a lot! "WWI," or, in my timeline, "The First Great War," actually started in the 1870's. Unlike in our real history, the complex Confederate-Anglo-French alliance turned the humble Franco-Prussian War into a bloodbath. Austria-Hungary had limited participation, and withdrew for its own good. However, it stagnated like Imperial Russia into a backwater. This story will show it trying to revive its former glory. :)
