  • This is why I stay out of the Gaslamp.

  • @Silver1Sprg: The bleed out your referring to would be caused by the severing of the femoral artery. A lower leg injury does not involve the femoral artery. Furthermore, I argue, that a leg pinned by a plastic bumper would not prevent circulation in such that a hasty tourniquet by a belt would not be a better option. Also, I highly doubt the inebriated patrons at 2 a.m. were considering the possibilities of a bleed out. My initial comment was aimed at exactly what 619Niners deduced.

  • Very sad. I'm glad I didn't go out that night. Hope the lady is well and everyone that got hurt. you recorded very well for being in a situation like that. I would have been all over the place just like that whole mob.

  • I can't believe nobody bothered to back up the vehicle.

  • @erikcpaint From the report I read, the taxi cab had one girl pinned against the wall, which she lost her lower part of one leg (cut clean off from the bumper). You can't move a vehicle with extreme injuries. The girl would have bleed out and died if they did, and besides the position of the car is important for the police to conduct their investigation of the accident. The only time you move a vehicle with injuries, if it's a live or death situation, but normally have medics there.

  • @erikcpaint they would rather pick up their phone & record video rather than helping out the injured. if not video taping they would probably join the other 50 drunks beating up the drowsy cab driver.
