  • They are being so overdramatic! Yeah Filipino martial arts demonstrations are soooo unstable you never know when its going to turn into a real fight!!!!! whatever...

  • @MaharlikaAWA I agree with you

  • @MaharlikaAWA if you actually got into it, it's not the same as other asian martial arts like in japan or china, it's really dangerous because it's too close and personal

in other words you'd feel safer practicing martial arts like aikido or karate than practicing escrima

  • @KatanaRapierCombo2 I already have gotten into it. I also love to fight. The opening scene with th demonstration in the stret was in no way even close to turnhing into a real fight. it was overdramatic and not even true. They were just demonstrating things and not actually fighting. geez.

  • 13:20 they bowed incorrectly.. only pugay (salute) is correct.. Still humble though.

  • @ANA5TACIO VERY TRUE

  • @TheSecurityGuard02 The fuck? That's not true.

  • Gentlemen, I address all of you. Regardless of the art that you practice, it is always the " Man " that matters not the Art / System / Style. So then, if he is honestly expressing himself that's all he can do. An Asian American said that, once..... For those of you who study the Filipino Martial Arts, a hearty Kamusta to you. Ultimately, we all Live to make the world a better place.

  • Wtf? They were speaking spanish....all of them... O_o

  • @TheTraceurBoy I'm not a Filipino historian but while the Spanish were colonizing my country, they also shared their language with us and taught us.

  • @TheTraceurBoy They're speaking Tagalog, actually. It just SOUNDS like spanish, due to Spanish influence.

  • When Jason and Bill make the decision, Bill always stands down and Jason always takes over, usually it would seem to be the other way around.

  • @Bisby219 Jason is a more trained fighter. That's why

  • @TenteixSaigo okay, thanks

  • i wonder if in one day i can get 99 likes... hmmm.. who knows.. time to find out if its possible!

  • @AllanHunter18 fatty :p

  • You deserved to get your finger broke show boating like that.

  • Eskrima>takewondo, kung fu, wing chung, krav maga

  • @copypacercopypacer It's a good art and is amazing, but Kung Fu? Kung Fu is the most complete art in the world. It's basically the Bible to martial arts.

  • @unknownally its true that kung fu is the great great ect grand father of martial arts in the east, but..i don't think it can compare to what eskrima can do

  • @copypacercopypacer I'm glad you didn't flame me like most people would on YouTube :)

But Eskrima is indeed deadly and was used to defeat many soldiers.

With Eskrima, though, you're using the same techniques for everything (hands, sticks, blades).

With Kung Fu, you know how to fight in the air, ground, with one leg, spear, everything. Plus you meditate, and can take a spear to your throat with those meditation techniques. I'm not trying to talk down on Eskrima, though.

  • @unknownally ha, i actually use the spear instead of the sticks in eskrima. my advisor is a muslim filipino who teaches only little hints in mindinao silat. kung fu is ok but doesn't overly achieve to the extent on what eskrima teaches me

  • @unknownally You sir, are a full on fucktarded moron. You're saying ALL kung fu students learn to take spears to the throat, but that 's not kung fu. That's Chi Kung! Internal arts aren't always that effective, though. External arts like Eskrima have body hardening. This can be just as effective at defending from damage.

  • @unknownally Part 2 sorry

But Kung Fu is on a whole other level. It's what Eskrima is derived from.

  • @unknownally You know nothing about eskrima. Eskrima was not derived from Kung Fu. Eskrima was derived from Malaysian fighting arts. When my ancestors traveled from Malaysia to the Philippines, they brought their fighting arts and their knowledge of forging blades. Over the years they fought other tribes in the Philippines and perfected their system. The word "eskrima" comes from the Spanish word "esgrima" which is "fencing." Eskrima uses sticks as practice tools. Mandirigma use kampilan.

  • @e6f6e616 Thanks for the lesson. I knew it was derived from somewhere.

But anyways, I think Ninjutsu is >

  • Comment removed

  • @unknownally Only someone of complete ignorance would think a martial art is better than another.

  • @iamtherealyou On the forums too much I see. It's true that every art has something to teach, but ninjutsu doesn't just teach you two hand short sticks, it teaches you all.

  • @unknownally

Eskrima is not just two hand short sticks, didn't you watch the video? All ninjutsu ever taught me was snobby rich white people trying to be the best and think that everyone else is inferior. Oh and rolling around.

  • @iamtherealyou yes and no there are effective martial arts and ineffective martial arts all effective martial arts are about how good you are at it but some things like that Brazilian dance fighting and setema are just bull shit

  • @iamtherealyou Agreed, it is depends on the fighter.

  • @iamtherealyou That's true, but you have to admit that as far as weapon styles go, this has an advantage over most stick or knife forms. To learn 3 weapons-sticks, knives, and empty hands-all at once is very helpful, especially in the military environment. You have to train people to do many things in a short time. To have a way to teach 3 at once, and do so effectively, is a priceless value.

  • @iamtherealyou true, the only thing you can compare between different martial arts are the skills or advantages/disadvantages of each fighter

  • @iamtherealyou it's not ignorance your ignorant for thinking that all martial arts are equal (which u implied by ignorantly saying it's ignorant.

  • @lilmac117 sorry but he is right. In fact it is not about the martial art and its forms that matters, it is about the artist itself.

  • @iamtherealyou nope. only someone who looks at the facts, sees through the immense amount of bs behind martial arts, and observes which best accomplishes its goals will think one is better than other. actually saying they're all created equal like you have, bespeaks ignorance. there's no effort to determine whether what you're saying is true

  • @drseth00789 Which art do you train in?

  • @MadnessJuan bjj/ grappling. hopefully start muay thai soon

  • @iamtherealyou Godamn right.

  • 12:10 they got the animation wrong. They were supposed to disarm using the forearm, not the stick.

  • cool

  • Weak ass foreigners!!!!

  • Human Weapon is interesting in that they include more history than does Fight Quest, but both these guys in Human Weapon are such incredible pussies in every episode, so it makes it almost impossible to watch.

  • @DreadedGuardian and when you beat up Jason I will believe you.

  • @Phishstrangler Belief has got nothing to do with anything as it is not a matter of opinions. For all his martial arts experience Jason is clearly not a fighter; he is, at most, a martial arts aficionado. My comment, however, was less about him than it was about the show. It would be great to watch if the hosts had at least a working grasp of the fighter's mentality, but grade-schoolers and housewives, not fighters, are the target audience, so I get it. Still, it could have been a great show.

  • @DreadedGuardian Jason Chambers has an MMA record of 18 and 5. Seems to me he has a little bit of fighter mentality.

  • @Phishstrangler A lot of less impressive mma practitioners have similar or more impressive records. The ratio of practitioners to actual fighters is drastically disproportional. There's a very big difference between a sportsman and a fighter. But, anyone who needs any of this explained is quite likely beneath its true grasp. Go in peace.

  • @DreadedGuardian whatevs. It just seems like it would be hard to be a successful mma practitioner and not be a fighter. What's the point of being a fighter if it doesn't make you better at fighting?

  • @DreadedGuardian That's moving the goal post, it's a fallacy. I know you don't have a real logical point to make, you're wrong.

  • mani paquiao started there!! hahah

  • LOOOOOOOL 0:21 bill running with a spear

  • unfucking believable. Youtube videos now have adds in the middle of fucking videos. WTF.
