so you might all hate me for this but here is my take..

i so much prefer his solo stuff so much better..just when its him and his piano pounding it out like there is no tomorrow. i saw him last october at a borders and he was phenomenal. he had such a personable and chill quality about him that i loved. this new material seems slightly techno-ish and really produced.

its not that i hate it at all, but i much liked his first album better. still heartfelt. still real. just not the same.

The lyrics are great as well as the sound. Why would you want his next album to sound completely the same as "Indiana"? He's expanding his horizons, not selling out. THIS is a great pop song. That's what he is: a piano-based pop/rock singer. A great one I might add ;)

agreed. the "honesty" and rawness of the Indiana album are totally missing in his new tracks. definitely disappointed here. I think, however, that a lot of it might have to do with pressure from the label to put out another album quickly.
