I don't wanna be the technical ass that replies here but he was talking about when he was a kid. Back then (and actually even now) pop & lock was part of breaking. B-boy battles in the 70's and 80's included poppers. It's obvious he's from that generation cuz he was doing top-rocking at the end.

It's only the new generations where popping was removed from b-boy battles, but pop & lockers are still called breakdancers by the media. So there's no technical wrong here. :D
